The automatic in the Mustang can be configured for paddle shifting and is a more modern design than say the Camaro. I honestly don't know what ford has against paddle shifting, as of now.

LOL....the Mags are having a field day with these 3 cars...it's like they are competing to see who can write the most articles on them...
I'm not saying I agree or disagree with any of them...but I will say I haven't bought a car magazine of any type in years...there is generally about as much factual info in them as there is in the Enquirer. So whether you are a GM fan, a Ford fan or a Dodge fan..don't put too much stock in the mags..their worthless opinions are subject to change 180* at any time for a myriad of reasons.

Gotcha, adding the $2,300 electronics package doesn't help since the SS doesn't have a touch screen nav and all that. but let me give it a shot with your config.

edit: GT Premium, interior upgrade package, 19 inch wheels, brembo brakes, 3.73 gears, shaker 500-sync system.

I got $36,180 with all of the above.

did I forget to include anything? oh also, we don't know the prices for the 2011 camaro's yet.

SAX-I got so flamed on a Mustang site for wanting a Tip--

It was like a manhood issue. "Mustang drivers don't do autos" etc etc. Maybe Ford believes that.

yea i would have to agee u cant put the dodge SRT-8 to a gt500 or the possible brought back z28? b/c they may cost the same but performance wise these cars are on a whole new level than the SRT-8 and thts way to much for tht car to handle since its slower than the stang and ss alrdy and it doesnt look as good either

I actually think the Challenger looks the best of the 3.

Interesting.

Car and Driver gave the Mustang a 13.2 on the Quarter Mile. 0.5 sec difference between C&D and MT.

Quote:
The Mustang matched the Chevy to 60 at 4.6 seconds, limited slightly by an extra upshift, but it trailed by a half-second to 100 mph, and in the quarter-mile: 13.2 seconds at 109 mph versus 13 flat at 111

I did add the electronic system. I didn't really read it fully just saw it had bluetooth, xm, premium sound, etc.

I just did the follow:

GT Premium with Trim package, brembo, 3.73 gears, HID lights (which means you have to get the security package), 19" wheels (biggest they offer w/this package), comfort package, stereo upgrade (the standard stereo does not include a sub).

Total price: 38,990

Not that big of a difference on stock rubber with different drivers.

They arent comparing cars of equal value so the tests are invalid IMO.

The SS comes with a 1000w sound system, and HID's?
also the GT comes standard with 19 inch rims per the site, what are you adding there that is bigger?
comfort package? seems like you are decking this baby out lol

Why are you adding 3.73 gears?

Oops, thought that was what was on the SS. They are 3.45. Changing now....

EDIT: Closest they have is 3.55 gears which are the same price, so it doesn't change overall price.

Could not care less what any magazine says. I bought the car for me, not them.
