New owner with a few questions.
Just got a 2010 2SSRS M6 IOM with black rally stripes and I have a few basic questions.
1) What is the size of the engine as in cubic inches? 2) What is the compression ratio? 3) What are the pros and cons of the Hennessey CAI? 4) What are the pros and cons of the SLP Long Tube Headers? Also, is a tune required with these headers or will it be fine to wait for the tune? I'm very proud of my purchase and this is my first Camaro. I'm very impressed with this vehicle. |

LS3 is 6.162 Litres or 376 cubic inches
compression is 10.7:1 I was a Mustang person so I'll let someone with more expertise in bowtie products to discuss headers and the CAI. In general anything that improves the flow of air into or out of the engine is a benefit...but not all products are created equal ![]() Also remember headers will likely increase peak horsepower but you tend to give up a little torque, you have to balance high flow exhaust with a bit of back pressure. |

Janetty Racing recently did a test of several intakes and the Hennessey didn't do very well. See this thread:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48202 And be sure to check out the spread sheet at the bottom of the first post. After reading this and talking to some other folks, I got the Cold Air Inductions intake. My understanding is that when you install LT headers it's a good idea to get a tune. My LT headers (Kooks) are going in next week and I'm getting a tune then too. Congrats on your new Camaro and welcome to Camaro5! Please post some pics of your car. We love to look at Camaros! |

looks like your questions have been answered.i see you are new to C5,so welcome.
i hope you do know that when you install long tube headers you will have to get a tune, which means you blow your warranty. |
