Not an easy answer, and it can't be both, but that IS the #1 question.
What if we did a hybrid of both? ONE national event in a different part of the country every year? Ample planning time would be given for people to decide if they can come or not...heck -- we started advertising Fest the first in November!!

We've made our decision on the location for the next C5fest.

It will be located in Bakersfield, CA.
We have a 1/4 mile track and a roadcourse within 25 miles of each other.
Enough hotels to accomodate everyone...... I think........

and most importantly it is closely located for me.
So it is very convenient.
I won't even have to miss school.
That's the most important part of this country-wide event..... that it accomodates me personally.........

Hope to see everyone there. Can't wait.....

Just take a look at the track map

Disclaimer: Believe me, C5Fest 1 could not be a better event than it was. Period. And and as you stated, advertising was on a short schedule.

That being said, I am not trying to be negative by any means, but if it is moved around to different parts year to year then by definition it becomes regional.

It can be called a national event, but for simplicity take out the north/south component. The years it is held in the east, you will lose the western C5'ers and in the years it is held in the west you will lost the eastern C5'ers. So other than the diehards or ones that can afford to take the time off or at least fly in, for many, it becomes an every other year event.

It is not that there is any right or wrong, it just depends on if C5 prefers to set it up to allow the maximum number of C5'ers to attend a singular annual event. I am sure many will pull their hair out over this one.

Well, that's why I called it a 'hybrid'...Camaro5 could invent a new sort of Enthusiast show...the Traveling National.

EDIT: And you weren't being negative...you're........not the type of person who needs to worry about that.

Hey, I am sure if we could, we would all chip in and make sure everyone that wanted to go could go. Maybe we could "borrow" the powerball jackpot... or the Reliable Transport trailers used by GM.

Now about that 'hybrid' term. You may have to ban yourself if you mention 'hybrid' and Camaro in the same sentence...

I'm pretty sure we can do whatever the hell we want with Scott and his Suburbans on tap.

Lookie here..."Hybrid" means a blend, or mix of multiple things into one complete 'thing'. Just because the Prius made the word ugly...and slow....and stupid....and dirty......and more ugly........err...it doesn't mean I can't use it!!!
