Fear not - we'll put a note out there when this is taken care of so that you can THEN go to your dealers to have the order updated.

There may be one or two other announcements at that time.

(.......and NO, I'm not talking about the Z28........)
New info from Scott regarding the polished wheels with the RS package.

What do you think the other announcements will be? Blue offered on the SS? HUD at launch? I doubt the HUD would be the announcement, but it's wishful thinking.

I don't think it'll be the HUD....that takes parts suppliers and could be pretty tricky to get done so quickly.

I have a feeling I know one of the things that's coming.....

but now...what are the OTHER announcements he's talking about?!?!?!

First, the only difference between the standard 20" SS wheels and the RS Package 20" wheels is the paint color - Sterling Silver versus Midnight Silver. And that's a reason to charge more...the color??

And if the Midnight Silver wheels are for some unknown reason worth more, we should get a credit for not taking them if we add the Polished Aluminum.

No, the bottom line is the Polished Aluminum wheels probably are worth $470 more than the Midnight Silver. Where we're being ripped off is having to pay $1200 for HIDs and color matched roof ditch molding, because the other RS equipment for an SS buyer isn't any increased value at all...spoiler - SS already has, RS taillamps - darker plastic, badging - red vs. silver emblems - get serious.

The only right, ethical thing for GM to do is, not simply allow the Polished Aluminum wheel addition to the RS package, but offer a new RS package for the SS only that includes the Polished Aluminum wheels instead of the Midnight Silver for $1400 or $1500 and not the $1670($1200 + $470) as it now stands!!! But will they step up to the plate and do what's right?!?

I dont care about the cost of the rs package i think its fair, HID are not cheap, plus i think the whole car itself is reasonably priced, so im not gonna complain about pricing. If this car is everything it looks to be come next year we will all have gotten a hell of a deal

If Polished aluminum wheels are accepted to be $470 more than the painted wheels. And by your logic, the midnight silver = regular painted rims in terms of $$$...then why should they lower any prices? If you replace the painted rims with polished, it's $470, be it RS or not....

EDIT: Those HIDs+halo lights are more expensive than I think you believe they are.....

I see your point. Obviously your logic far exceeds mine of last eve. Okay, let me put it this way - overall I think the GM pricing is excellent. Like the auto trans, a very good deal at $995 considering all you get. I just thought for what you get, especially the SS buyer, the RS package is high at $1200. Like you say, I may be valuing the HIDs too low ($600?).
So, for the SS buyer adding $470 polished wheels, you feel the RS Package which then consists of only HIDs, color matched roof ditch molding, and RS tail lamps and badging is fairly priced at $1200?

Quality DOT legal HID headlights are close to $1000 by themselves. I think the RS package is fairly priced.

Much too late to answer..., yes - I think it's a bargain across the whole lineup, actually.

If you think about it, $1450 ($250+ than the SS) on the 2LT gets you bigger rims (not just a different color), and a spoiler (which could run anywhere between $200-$300 itself). I think Chevy did a great job pricing this car.

EDIT: The cool factor of those Halos alone is worth $1000 to me,
