I believe jrhaus76 was considering getting his calipers powder coated sometime in the future. He might have some notes on what companies can do the powder coating.

What color are the suspension mods you have had done? Perhaps you could color coordinate with your suspension pieces. Do your new wheels have any accent color?

We could help you with removing and re-installing your calipers if you want help. I haven't removed the calipers from a 2010 Camaro but I have from other cars before. You should get new brake caliper bolts and brake hose gaskets for re-installing. You will also need to get the brakes bleed.

Go with the Black calipers!! Red would stand out like a sore thumb. I would go CGM or Black.

+1

I think CGM with black Brembo logo would look killer.

My wheels will be gloss black and CGM. This is the pic I put together for Savini. I told them to make the gray match the CGM in my car:

I was kind of leaning toward the black calipers and perhaps have the Brembo logo be in CGM. I know it will be very subtle.

When i do my brakes, I am going red. My BMR suspension pieces are red and red calipers are synonomous with performance vehicles.

My plans are to do red calipers, Hawk pads and MTI stainless brake lines (they have a red cover). I am keeping the rotors. Too much cost for nothing really. As for the calipers... my plans are actually to do it myslef with hi heat paint over the winter. Much cheaper and really easy if you prep right but the car will be down for a few days so I am waiting. The pads and SS lines are cheap. Biggest expense is paying someone to powedercoat/paint the calipers.

As for the install, brakes are a snap.

oh yeah, my springs are gray (Pfadt).

I really like the candy apple red brake calipers I've seen. I will wait until I get my wheels before deciding on a color for the calipers. It would be great if I had my wheels on my car by the 23rd, but I seriously doubt it.

Cool, I installed my rear sway a few days ago... SUPER EASY. Maybe 30 minutes tops. I backed the car up on ramps and did it no sweat. On OSC car, we will do it when we do the springs while the wheels are off. On hrpiii's car, we will do the ramp methond as long as Heinz has ramps...

For the front, I have not got it yet but it is supposed to come soon so I will get that on and be prepared for mod day!

I am really looking forward to this! My car goes in Friday for the headers and tune. I am keeping the stock cat-back for now. I have made my decision, if I go aftermarket exhaust, it will be Flowmaster American Thunder. Drew has it and it sounds amazing! Also, Kristen wants exhaust cutouts so I will be adding those one of these days. she likes the freedom of quiet when you want and out of control loud when you want!

Speaking of exhaust, I have been working on my dad's supercharged mustang. It has a bad tune right now so the boys at CincySpeed are retuning it tomorrow. We put on a MagnaFlow tru-x without cats and a MagnaFlow street exhaust... WOW it sounds great except for the fact the the tru-x has a leak in the weld that will need fixed. I am hoping they can fix it tomorrow while its at the shop. It sounds amazing at idle and low rpm/throttle but as soon as you get on it, there are two sounds... are really deep, nice exhasut and a really crappy, raspy exhaust leak. Also, the car is running VERY lean below 4000 rpm so that may have part to do with the crappy sound. I dont know if a/f ratio effects sound seems it would.

My impression after driving my Dads 2007 supercharged Mustang GT with 467 wheel HP the past week... Though it is pin you in the seat fast, there is NOTHING I like better on the Mustang over the Camaro. I had to take my Camaro for a drive last night just to remind me how much better it is.

The Mustang's interior is cheap, it rattles and it is really no frills. The leather is hard and the door panels are plastic... like cheapo plastic.

The Mustang handles like CRAP! Even though it has about the same suspension mods as my Camaro, it is scary. I mean I drive the same roads everyday and the Camaro just hugs the road. The Mustang... not so much. Maybe a set of sway bars are in order for the Mustang.

The ride quality of the Camaro is hands down better. I drove the Mustang from Columbus to my place (about 2 hours) and by the time I got home, I was ready to get out.

Well, just thought I'd share my subjective review of both cars. Don't get me wrong, I really like my dad's car but there is not a snowballs chance in hell the Mustang even comes close to the Camaro.

jr,
thanks for that review. I test drove a Mustang GT before buying my Camaro. There was no contest. The Mustang just felt cheap to drive IMHO. It didn't corner as well and it rattled. The Camaro just felt to me like the better car all the way around.

I decided to go ahead and have my headers coated this week. IPS will have them back on Monday and I'm on their schedule for next Tuesday (May 11) to have the headers/exhaust/tune done. I will be taking a video of the car on the dyno that afternoon. Should be fun.

I have only driven a Mustang once as a rental car. While driving it on a wet highway each little bump seemed to make the rear end jump around making it not feel safe to drive over 45 mph.

Wonder if the 2011 Mustang is any better with handling, ride, and comfort? Car and Driver showed it as a winner against the Camaro. One of my co-workers who retired last year has a mustang convertable (not sure what year), and he hates taking it on long drives as well.

Would you recommend changing the fluids in the V6 as well.
