Gauging interest for a Cruise/dyno day event early 2010 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

While at SEMA last week I was able to make contact with the President and CEO of a VERY well know aftermarket parts manufacturer and distributor. He is looking at hosting a "Free Dyno Day" event for the Camaro5 Family that would include a tour of his manufacturing facility and of course PARTS!

For those of you who may have heard of them, BBK Performance Parts has been making high quality parts for sports cars for years and have a huge share in the aftermarket parts industry where Mustang's are concerned. They are trying to expand into the Camaro market and brought their products to our table. There known for having top quality parts without the excessive price tag.

For those of you that are not as familiar with them, they make intakes, exhaust systems, fuel systems, pretty much anything you would need to improve the performance of your 2010 Camaro (or just about any other car you own). They have produced a system for the V6 that has shown tremendous gains in both h.p. and torque above anything else I have seen in that market.

The event would be at their HUGE facility in Temecula, California some time after New Year's day. I was asked to get prospective date's together (Saturday's) so he could ensure that his staff would be available. This event will be open to all Camaro5 members from as far away as you are willing to drive.

The President/CEO is also a Camaro owner (he bought his SS from the same dealership I bought mine from) so he is very excited about the meet!

I was thinking about having a couple of starting points (one in San Diego and the other one near Carls Jr. for example) and both groups cruising to a location in Temecula, then off to BBK's shop. This would allow more members to get to cruise without everyone having to go too far out of their way.

The date's that I came up with so far are:

January:

Saturday 23rd
Saturday 30Th

February:

Saturday 20Th
Saturday 27Th.

This would give us time to budget for possible upgrades (if required), more members to get their cars, recover from Christmas and possibly get our taxes back so the accountants might actually allow for some splurging.

I realize that the weather in So Cal is completely random that time of year, but the cool air temp should allow for some impressive numbers on the dyno, and as long as mother nature keeps the rain at bay, it should be the makings of a great day.

I haven't asked if parts would be able to be installed that day, but if that is something that your are interested in, let me know and I'll see if that is a possibility.

Like everything else we do, all generation Camaro's and Pontiac's welcome!

Sounds good to me!! Thanks for putting this together! I don't know about many people getting taxes back by those dates!

I vote for the 20th or 27th of Feb

Yes...Yes...Yes...& Yes! It's all good for me.

That much advanced notice, I'm sure everyone can adjust calendars.

Checked their website and it was a lillte lite on camaro stuff, but I guess they have 60-90 days to fill it up. Suspension stuff would be good too.

maybe we could get some 2010 stimulous money from President Obama for our mods! Who wants to take the lad on that?

I voted for 1/30 to give them some time to beef up their camaro product line, but not soo far out that I can't wait and buy all the stuff I want, need, desire, or lust for!

They have a huge shop in FL that has an entire Camaro Section. Tribone took pic's of their display at Sema and posted them in the 4th installment I believe it was. I'm waiting for all the spec's and info on what's currently available then I'll post it up for all to see.

I'm pretty sure they can get 10 cars dyno'd on this day. It looks like I'll try to set it up for the last Saturday in February. I'll let you guys know when I hear back from them. I may be able to get food at the event also.
