Not a big fan of the "neon" colors, give me British Racing Green, now that's classy.

At a meeting some of us fans had with GM back in Febuary, I brought up the loss of ABM and they said that nothing is stopping GM from bringing it back if demand was sufficient. So all you can do is keep demanding it.

I have given up on this lofty pursuit and settled on summit white. I can always paint blue stripes on it

The Fbodfather sees threads like this. I think that's enough. Or maybe write a letter to GM. I feel like a physical piece of mail would be more effective than an internet forum, but that's just me.

I have to say if I got a new camaro it would have to be Aqua Blue Metallic. Seen one in the flesh the other day for the first time and it was amazing. Color was pulled too soon before alot of people could even see what it looked like in the flesh. Not to mention the gm online builders representation of the color was terrible.

It was the same for me. If I hadn't had a fluke encounter w/ one at a local dealer, I would be driving a white or red one. It is EXTREMELY rare when a day goes by when someone doesn't comment on the color. I totally agree w/ you w/ regards to the online representations of the color, when I saw it, I . Even now, when I see it on an HHR, it looks weak, but on a Camaro....dam!

Sorry guys, GM please do not ever bring back the ABM. I know I am selfish, but just makes mine more rare.

well -- this (color) is one of those subjects that will never die......and I think everyone pretty much understands why......

I personally love bright blues.........from Mulsanne Blue in the early 70s and LeMans blue and Nassau blue of the 60s -- to the light blue metallic in 1989-90.

I was delighted when we launched bright blue metallic in 1999 -- and guess what? It lasted less than 6 months.

The reality is that while some love the color (me included) it doesn't sell in very large numbers.

Paint will deteriorate as it sits in vats...some worse than others...so when a color drops below 3 percent, we get a 30-60 day warning - if it doesn't go above that rate, it's gone. Simple as that.

Yes - some of us absolutely love Aqua Blue Metallic - I especially love it with Silver Stripes.........but the reality is that even AFTER we announced that the color would go away, the volume never materialized.

A new color costs a lot in terms of development (more than you'd ever guess) .....(and before some bodyshop guys and gals chime in - remember - we have to paint at a line rate -) and so 'drastic' colors are very risky.

Frankly, there was a LOT of heartburn about Synergy Green Metallic -- because it's a high risk color........but apparently it's being received judging by the comments I've overheard at various autoshows around the country.......

Color is a very emotional subject -- and we will never get everyone to agree on a color palette - other than about 90% believe we need to offer Black, Bright Red (....and it had BETTER be bright)....and white. (We used to call them the 'hallowed three') Silver is a close 4th even tho it's one of the most popular colors in the auto industry. After that, percentages fall off a cliff...

True enough. But I hate telling people that the color is already gone and seeing the look on their faces when they hear that.

Speaking of colors, the Synergy is a bit much for me, but I'd love to see a Polo Green 2 rendition on a 5th gen. That color would look good on so many cars...

I guess that pretty much sums up that subject! Thanks, Scott, your insight is greatly appreciated. As a bodyshop owner (and painter), I know color has a shelf life. I don't know why it costs so much to develop a new color, but I would be willing to help the art and color folks at GM for FREE! Well, maybe not free...I would like the grand tour of the styling studios....
