It is also funny a lot of guys touting this new mustang and its times that fail to look at the big picture.
This is a performance shop backed by Ford with limitless money, track time, driving experience, knowledge on drag racing/car set-up, no care for the well being of the car (beat the piss out of it), great track and conditions/prep just for them ETC. you name it. VS. What a couple average joes have done on camaro5 with their own personal cars. Just taking an unbiased look at the situation...I have never said the mustang doesnt rip...in fact I have given it props more times than I can count. But you have to be realistic when given this type of information. Not saying private owners cant do this. But the # of camaros and mustangs running this type of set-up is small. All we know is that it still looks close like it always has been....and I dont doubt will stay that way for the most part mod for mod. |

![]() I have ALOT of respect for the 5.0, but to expect a basic bolton 5.0 can keep up with a supercharged LS3 is just plain rediculous. I really think that it's a drivers race between a bolton 5.0 vs a bolton SS |

It would help if you read the article. The edmunds comparison the mustang had all seasons. It does make a difference. I honestly think the optioned GT has a slight edge on the camaro SS up to the 1320. The camaro will pull the mustang after that no doubt. The only 0-130 test we have shows almost a 2 second difference. I dont think any test could be that far off... |

Well, you knew what I meant too. The discussion was about how the engine was maxxed out and bolt ons wouldn't help it much. People were citing a car with suspension mods and drag radials as "proof" the engine was not maxxed out.

Of coarse the car is going to get good gains getting away from the factory tune and opening up the exhaust. You would have to be an idiot to think the car wouldnt get good gains from this.
The true test will be to see what kind of numbers the 5.0 is capable of with a street-able pump gas NA h/c set up. If it can get to about ~470rwhp it will be right with the H/C LS3 camaro (~490rwhp). If it stops around 450 we will still have a slight advantage. But either way...like has been said many times before. The cars are truly a good match for one another. |
