You can't just add the advertised numbers and assume thats what you will get. There is many more things that go into it. Tuning, picking parts that compliment each other for a performance goal, etc. This isn't news but aftermarket manufactures will exagerate their gains to help sell products and rarely do they tell you the whole truth about their numbers. |

I've read that MainLine Dynos are about 18% less than a Dynojet. With that account, I'm pushing 371.7hp roughly on a DynoJet.

Yeah I've been considering porting the stock head and throttle body then doing a re-tune. But I've also got my sights set on a Vortech Blower. My dilemna now is whether to do that porting for now, wait a year and then do the blower OR keep the FAST, and get the blower in a couple of months. |

The stock intake performs very well until you get into the 500 whp range on stock displacement but it makes noticeable gains in mild build big cube engines. Long story short the stock intake is an amazing piece and will do the job for all but the most radical n/a builds.
It does add power on stock engines though but not much. IIRC Patrick G installed one and the TB on his stock GTO and tuned it to perfection and even then only picked up around 12 whp. Knowing his rep I'd say thats the best anyone could expect to get from one on a stock engine. Sure add cam and port heads and the gains will be improved but it is pricey gains thats for sure |

Did he elaborate on why the Halltech is "worse"? I have a hard time believing that. For a bolt-on, no-tune required intake kit, I have to say that have done the most research of any company making this type of product.

Another thread crying about dyno numbers.
Dyno numbers are for internet racers. Go to the track and see the gains. /thread. |

That's why I dropped on a supercharger. That's the cheapest HP mod you can do looking at cost per hp ,and you know it works. To me the other stuff is just a waist of money unless you open up the motor which is very spendy.

Boltons are certainly not a "waist" of money and are required to get the most out of more intense modifications.
