Costco has used nitrogen for years. $25 seems really high.

I have nitrogen and won't go back to air for several reasons
1. Does not expand or contract as much as air. 2. Nitrogen molecules are bigger than air so you will not lose pressure as fast. 3. I and my wife have noticed a smoother ride since switching to nitrogen. 4. Nitrogen contains no moisture so the inside of the tire won't rot like they do with air. I paid $49.00 for four tires at the dealer and when ever I need a top of at oil change time he does it for free. And by the way nitrogen is lighter than air and my gas milage went up by 4 MPG. Ask a reputable tire shop for their opinion. These are my reasons. |

Helium. Make your car 20% lighter and improve your track times.
Or hydrogen if you want to live dangerously. |

It's not BS. Go to associatedcontent.com and search for your self. Race car drivers use it for a reason such as consistant tire pressure under hot and cold conditions. Commercial and military aircraft have been using it for decades. Why are new car dealers putting it in their new cars? Just for the extra money? I don't talk out of my tailpipe without having done the research before hand.

Nitrogen. Paid $14.95 w/coupon at local dealer.
Not sure about all the above posts, but I did it to prevent tire pressure fluctuations between the cold AZ mornings and hot AZ afternoons. Not convinced about the direct mpg savings but I since Nitrogen is lost slower than Air, you are less likely to drive around with underinflated tires.

Either A)you were driving around with 3 psi in all 4 of your tires before you switched to nitrogen b)you drastically changed your driving habits, from "having the gas pedal floored at all times" to "grandma driving" c)you moved from an area of perfectly flat roads to the mountains d)you are exaggerating

Wow that clears it up! lol the tire shop gave me the same pitch of the army , planes and nascar. But airplanes use it for two reasons air expands under heat and oxygen can fuel a fire so if a tire over heats and blows out the oxygen will fuel the fire if started by the blowout not sure about all the rest
