I've seen a couple of Chally's on the street and damn it if that thing doesn't look like a downed skyscrapers on wheels!! Don't get me wrong, it's a nice car but the proportions are all off... it isn't wide enough for it's height and the rear deck lid actually looks like a deck (game of shuttle any one?). It's like a thick woman who doesn't carry her weight well. When I look at the Camaro's dimensions next to the Chally's and Mustang's I get excited! The mustang has good proportions although I think the rear decklid is a bit long and doesn't flow well, but wow... a car shorter and wider than a Mustang?!? That gives me goosebumps!

Well, I've done some more looking at my neighbor's mustang and I've decided that I don't really mind the size, once I really think about what the car is. I really can't wait to see one in person, though.

I called my dealer - turns out they have an allocation of 16, and 4 are left. Really sucks because I won't know if I can buy until March. I need to see what I'm getting for a bonus, tax return and make sure I survive the rumored lay offs that month. But once March rolls, I'll know for sure. Hopefully there will still be some open orders available.

That's a great comparison. I haven't seen the GT-R compared to anything but the Corvette.

I think that the perception of size as a lot to do with the color. When I saw the Black Camaro at SEMA, it looked kind of small, but the silver SS looked very well proportioned. The red LS7 looked a bit small as well. It seems that the darker colors appear smaller than the lighter colors….just a perception thing.

It's roughly the same size. I mean...it's not Audi TT and it's not a station wagon.

I really can't describe it. Hrm...

ya know it was actually smaller in-person than I expected after seeing the photos.

I can't really quantify that, except that it doesnt have the shark nose or bigger rear bumper as a 4th gen. Less perceptible length?

other than that, pretty much the same?

I think similar to Mustang sounds great IMO. I'm not shy about the fact that if there was no Camaro, I'd get a Mustang. I like that kind of car, the size, and the proportions. And then the Camaro is supposed to be shorter and wider...that's just fantastic

i saw it in person on sunday for the first time, and it was AMAZING. It was dwarfed by the challenger but what surprized me the most was that it seemed to me like the new GTR made the camaro and challenger look like hotwheels, that thing seemed HUGE

Cool beans all - you've talked me into it.

If I can talk my dealer into a reasonable deposit I'm ordering.

The Challenger takes about four minutes to walk around it.
