Where do you guys reccomend getting a cat-back installed at? I like to do my own work for minor things (intake, oil changes, etc) but I'd rather not do the exhaust w/o a lift. I had RPM Automative and Carter Performance (Off Abercorn) quote me $200-240 which seems excessive for a bolt on part.

if your talking about a complete x-pipe and catback, I would do it. an axle back kit will require cutting the stock pipes off the back, which i can aslo do, but would prefer not to.

I'd do it for $100 if you wanted. I do all my own work, doesnt matter what it is.

pm me if your interested.

Yeah I'm probably going to pickup a catback soon (X Pipe included), either the Corsa or Borla Type S. I want more of a growl/deep exhaust note but I dont want it to be loud overall or have drone on the highway.

Do you have a lift or can you do that stuff w/ a regular jack?

I may take you up on that. Did you do your springs too?

yeah, i did my springs myself. I put a cam in my 97, ive done just about everything you can do with a car. Ive stripped a car completely to part it out. I can basically do whatever. Working on cars is a hobby i enjoy. I dont do it for the money so much as spending time improving cars. all a shop cares about is money, they have to make the money and enough of it to pay anyone involved. I'm up for just about anything.

goes for anyone else in the area also. Id like to keep it to camaros/firebirds. thats what i know best

Well I'm definitely getting exhaust of some sort soon and springs at some point so I'll hit you up! How do you like your springs? I want something that is mild, maybe 1.0 inch drop and little to no change in ride (i know thats asking a lot). My last car rode terrible and it wasn't worth it because there are absolutely no fun roads in Savannah or near by to test the handling.

i went with h&r because of the amount of drop. the eibach springs did not lower it enough for me. from what i head, detroit speed has a nice set or springs for our cars. the drop isnt as much as mine, but the ride quality should be better, I like a stiff bumpy ride, but thats me. I like my springs. got them from tire rack. they werent bad to install. Ive done springs in the past. just requires the compressor rental from autozone. I did my longtubes and springs in the same day. just took a couple of hours for me.

Headed to Savannah this weekend for a wedding at the Cathedral. If you see a Rally Yellow 2LT/RS with hood spears and shakedown stripes on the sides, be sure to wave and hollar! If you are on River street, look for the drunk red headed guy!

Random question for Savannah people:

My girlfriend gives me a ton of crap because i'm never comfortable parking my SS downtown Savannah ANYWHERE (city market deck, bay street, etc). I always offer to pay for gas, drive her car, etc but I think she's getting annoyed by it at this point. Soon I am going to get a truck or something utilitarian that I'll just drive down there and not worry about. Does anyone else have this issue?

i usually make my fiancee drive her is250 because i dont like most parking lots. i'll drive if i know its going somewhere safe. i'll park onto of the robinson parking garage if i ever take mine downtown. but thats not during normal busy garage hours. when i parked there i was all alone but were a few cop cars parked up there too.

she complains about the mileage on her car a lot but i could care less. i tell her that in a few years we wont have her car anymore and we will still have mine

Same situation here, I beg my girlfriend to drive her Accord Coupe downtown because nobody is going to mess with it but she commutes about 30 miles each way to work and I commute about 4 so she leverages that lol.

Where is the Robinson Garage? Is that the one behind the Court House? I can't wait until next year, I am hoping to get a used Tundra or Tacoma that I can use for situations like this. I need a truck anyway for stuff around the house.

its on the corner of montgomery and barnard i believe. I get off 16 onto mongomery go past the civic center, go through the next light and the parking signs are on the right shortly after. they are 1 way streets into and out of the garage so if u miss the enterance youll have to come in the back way. my fiancee parks there when she works downtown. she had her G6 clipped once before in there, just have to be careful where you choose to park.

and i had no problems gettin into or out of the garage with my car being lowered.
