My Dyno #'s

Just got my car in the shop for some bolt on installs. They used a dynocom and the only thing I have installed is an Airaid CAI.

22 May 2010

2010 SS/LS 3
Top HP 385.7 @5800 rpm
Torque 392.6 @ 4650 rpm
90 deg
50% humidity

I am still new to the dyno but I think those are pretty good #'s for stock. I cant wait to see the #'s next week when all the parst are installed.

Parts waiting:
Centerforce Clutch & Flywheel
Headers & Cat back exhaust from pypes
SLP 1.85 Rockers

If you want you can follow the progress from start to finish at: www.maxxspeed.net/id80.html

SLP 1.85 rockers? i'm not very familiar with the effectiveness of adding rockers with a higher ratio (people always say like 1.7 roller rockers)...........can someone explain this to me, does it just increase lift by however much? what kind of power do you expect from this?

Increases max valve lift but not duration. He should get 10-15rwhp from these after tune.

A roller rocker increases lift and can increase some duration by adding area under the lift curve, and since it causes the valve to open sooner. It generates more impact to the springs and the cam, as it holds valves open higher and longer. This also adds to the velocity of the valves as they open and close

It is difficult to guess at how much power can be gained from a different ratio on a stock LS3, because I haven't seen significant testing nor heard many consistent stories from people who have made such adjustments.

Thanks for explaning the rockers. Update: The shop hit a snag because the new long tube headers required the removal of the cats. But he is in the process of fabricating so the cats can stay incase I move to a state that requires emission testing. The shop should finish up and have the new Dyno #'s by Sat. I am really excited to see the HP I will be getting.

Well the new #'s are in. With my mods I know have 428.6 hp with 435.8 torque. The mechanic tried installing the superchips hp tune but made the car run really lean, so superchips said stick with the factory tune and it saw a 6hp increas...better air/fuel mix. The hp cost per hour came too $25, but with the extra parts ordered and fab required it jumped to aprox $35. The car hit allot of bubba on the way everything from fabricating the original cats to work, but failed and had to but low profile/high flows cats to needing longer o2 wires. Haha if I didn't need parts or fab I would have been cheap, but playing with expensive toys cost money . Can't wait to get home and drive her...48hr to go woohoo

I'd bet more like 5hp best case from the rockers. I'd be interested in you posting your results from just the rockers. I haven't engine dyno tested a set on our engine dyno because I haven't seen anyone buy a set for the LS3
