My buddy had the same problem and when the shop checked out the install we found out it was not sealing all the way. Make sure you reset your PCM.

It's not necessarily a bad install causing the codes. They grind the stacker surfaces to get a good contact surface to the headers. When you weld the stackers to the Cat it will distort the flange and allow for only partial contact. Unfortunatly heat does this and unless they are clamped to the header you run this risk. I took my cats back off then cleaned and honed the flange. I also made some gaskets for them and have been driving for a cpl months with no codes.

Seal up the area around the stackers, and you will be golden. JBA should look into a different method for that part of the install.

I think we'll see similar gains from either set, it's just going to vary on your pocketbook, and how you want them installed. Either way, the midpipes are cut and welded. Just a different method on how.

I called JBA and asked them why they have the stacker flange and they said so if you need to remove the cats you don't have to remove the headers also. This makes sense in my mind and they said they have over 50 sets in stock & ready to ship of their v6 shorties.

The guy Alex also said that you are supposed to have the clamp and flange installed with the header before tack welding the stacker flange. This insures the correct angle of the flange.

Did that. In fact, i actually did 5 tacks not 3 as recomended. It's just the nature of welding pipe, heat bends metal. If the welding machine is turned down to minimum heat then you stand a better chance of not distorting the flange. Not everyone has a CEL with the JBA's. It's just the difference in welds from shop to shop.

Did that as well. Like Mankind stated though, welding distorts metal. And the v-clamps aren't the absolute greatest things on the planet either.

I think JBA needs to redesign the stackers, or include a set of gaskets. It would just add to the security of not having a CEL.

ive talked to jba also and they said the same thing about fitting the headers on first. when i take the stacker flanges off the driver side stays in place i have to shake it to come off.the right side falls out by it self (thinking thats the side that is giving me the trouble).put the scaner on the car and the right bank is leaking.soooo i ordered new flang clamps and going to reado the right side hoping that this is the last time.mabe i just rushed the right side fig that i instaled in the middel of winter in the garage with no heat.crappy excuse i no i no
