Removing factory BA amp

I am wanting to completely remove the factory BA amp, gone outta there see ya!

In its place will be a hole that desires a nice aftermarket four channel amp to at first drive the stock BA speakers minus the center channel.

Now in trying to understand how this all works together so I can intelligently communicate with those audio folks smarter than I, what does each connector do?

In looking at the wiring diagrams I sort of understand what and where everything goes however the low level signal part leads me to believe that the BA amp piece does some sort of summing or processing (is this right)?

So it would seem the following would be true:

X1 connector
Dont need

X2 connector
Need as these are your speaker connections

X3 connector
what do these do? Would these have to run into something like Cleansweep

Cheers
K

The amp does all the processing. Cleansweep is optional, but not required. X3 is your your input signal. ie audio signal from your head unit to the amp. Plus the turn-on wire and an amp control wire that is orange. X2 is wires leading to all your door speakers and center speaker I believe. X1 is wires leading to your rear 6x9s and the power and ground for the amp.

Once you have our x3 rca harness for your audio signal input, you will also need to conect all the speaker leads on the 4 channel amp back to the x1 and x2 wires in the harness. To do this you will need to splice in. OR just run new wires to all the speakers, but that might not be too easy. Now if you also had our x1 and x2 harnesses, you could interface every wire in the harness with an easy connection and not splice or solder anything. Like in this pic..

But again, we haven't gotten enough interest to justify ordering easy connect harnesses for x1 and x2. Which is too bad because this would make interfacing a 4 channel amp back into the factory wiring very easy.

Looks like this could have been an X1, X2 & X3 package sale if they all existed. Man I wish they did.

How many interested parties do you need to make this happen? Count me in! I'd be interested all 3 if they were available. I am already waiting for the RCA harness to be made available.

I'd be down to get all three X1. X2. & X3 if you decide on making them.

All 3 Please...

I'd definitely be in for all 3!

Steve, how are you gauging potential interest in the x1/x2 harnesses?

I would be too Steve, regardless of what I said before, I know what ever you charged for them would be reasonable in comparison to your cost, just like everything else you offer. You have got some great prices I was just checking your site again trying to figure out which direction I want to go. 2 10's or 2 12's or one 12 or one 10... ugh decisions. LOL

I'm going to start w/a single JL 10w3v2-d4 w/a JL 300/4 powering it and see how that works...

That's a good Idea. I have two 10's in a bandpass box in my FJ and sometimes it's just too much. SO a single ten might be perfect for me. We shall see, good starting point at least.
