Amp mounting
I have a question regarding amp mounting.
I have the ******** trunk enclosure that fits in and across the trunk pass through opening. I have it installed correctly so there is some space between the back of the enclosure and the seat back. I have mounted my Sundown Audio amp roughly in the middle of the enclosure. The bottom has more than enough room but the top is about 1/2 to maybe 3/4 of an inch down from the trim surrounding the opening. When I put the seat up it closes just fine and when I open it back up it doesnt seem like it was pressing on the amp. In seeing picks and such this seems fine where I have installed the amp, do I need to worry about heat? Cheers K |

I really think it really depends upon the amp. I know it's kind of a sh!tty/vague answer, but I've had some amps that I wouldn't put near anything flammable, others that ran cool as a cucumber...
As long as it's not touching anything and you have air circulation space you should be fine. Thant being said, have you ran the amp hard and tested how hot it feels? If you can touch it, it won't cause any problems, if it actually is painful to touch, then... |
