Magnaflow Resonated X-Pipe install question

I installed the Magnaflow 16581 axleback today - I already have Kook's LT's so I was trying to quiet down the exhaust but it still not quiet enough for me - yeah, I am super picky about drone. Anyway, I am thinking about ordering the 11386 resonated x-pipe from Magnaflow but was wondering if I could install it with clamps or does it have to be welded in? Just not sure if will slide over my stock pipes or if it will be exact same diameter so I just want to know before I order it. I will get it welded later on probably but just wanted to clamp it in for now if there is enough room. Anyone done this? Thanks - having hell getting the sound I want out of this car with the LT's.

If a muffler shop is going to install it, they have a machine that can widen the pipes to slip over the resonator tubes or vise versa.

Yeah, I was just thinking about getting out the sawzall and doing it myself but don't know if the xpipe is already flared or not.

I'd suggest taking the resonator section to a muffler shop and have them flare the ends. Surely they wouldn't charge you more than $5-$10. Then you could take it home and cut the pipes to fit, then slip it on.

Once you get it done let us know how you like it or even better post some video. I'm wanting headers soon but wonder how loud it's going to be with the resonated x and muffler delete.

I'm torn too,I have the edelbrock x at the shop along with this resonated magna x
Cant decide which one to use?

I wanna do hf cats too (never gonna put headers on the car) so I think the resonated x might be better for me.
Once I add the hf cats its gonna get louder and with the edelbrock x it might be too loud since I already have the comp. axleback.

Does anyone have a muffler delete and a true x on a L99?
Is it louder now that u added a true x?

My AFM is turned off so no drone..

This is not true. Mine was already flared and slipped right over the stock 2.5" pipes. Perhaps either you or I got an oddball, but seems unlikely.

My Magna resonated X is all the same pipe, no flare..
I will need to be flared to fit..

My Edelbrock IS FLARED and will go over the stock pipe..
I am going with the Edelbrock and sending back the MAGNA RESONATED ONE

That is very very strange. Again, mine slipped right over so it was flared from the factory. Quality control issues?

I cut out my magnaflow resonated x for a true, non resonated x.

Have it sitting in my garage if you want one.
