Drive whatever you buy. But if you do actually want to count gas milage then no sense in messing around with an SS.

I own an SS and LOVE it! I drive it a GREAT deal but since I work from home and don't have to travel for work, my miles are not nearly what others do for work travel.

I'm adding an axle-back, a cold-air induction, and eventually a tune to get just a touch more performance with the objective of getting the best gas milage possible.....actually treating it as a game of just seeing what I can actually do to my SS to get more performance and gas milage.

Did you know putting a supercharger on an H2 can actually improve gas milage? :-)

Pros - too many to list

Cons - 14 mpg (all city) if you care - I don't; skip shift (I need the eliminator); parking on the bottom floor of the garage to avoid door dings (but I would do that with any new car)

You're getting 14? I'm getting 12!

I drive about 10 miles to and from work every night (I work nights) and 80-90% is freeway. But that small amount of time on the city streets causes me to get about 15 MPG and I am not speeding, reving up, or being in low gears. But mostly I don't care if I get 10 or less MPG. I have a bike that gets me 40 MPG and can do 180mph, which I mostly use and the Camaro sits.

Pros: Fun to drive, costs only a little more than a v6 Toyota or honda, costs less than any truck or suv on the road and gets equal or better gas mileage.

Cons: driving more miles will usually increases the chances of accidents, door dings, scratches, sun damage, hail storms, sand blasted by wind, theft, hit and run, wear to the interior, bug splats, rock chips.

Tires are f@!#ing expensive and cannot be rotated in anyway.

The SS model has no spare tire, so a blowout requires a tow. And I have yet to meet a tow company that is easy on a car.

Higher insurance premium if you don't have another car.

Faster depreciation.

Premium unleaded isn't cheap, and the car gets poorer gas mileage than its corvette cousin.

8qts of synthetic oil every 4,000 mile because the oil life indicator will switch to a severe schedule as a result of only driving 10 miles at a time.

I drive only about 2 mi. to and fro, but Bethesda traffic is terrible. I drive uphill--both ways!

I have about 1500 mi. on my SS all in trafic and I dont mind the skip shift at all. Infact, I kind of like it in traffic or just cruising around the neighborhood. The car doesnt really need 2nd and 3rd most of the time but when you need them they are there

For all those that post gas mileage as cons- I drive it 22 miles one way to work mostly highway but some city...the SS M6 actually gets BETTER gas mileage than my Jeep Grand Cherokee V6. Not my daily driver since I live in Upstate New York but would love it to be my DD .

You WON'T be sorry in a SS hands down an AWESOME car!!

Cons: worried about it getting hit, or scratched, people wanting to test you.

Pros: all the thumbs up, compliments, and the fact that you can out run
most car on the road.

cops love camaros too. in a bad way.

i was pulled over last week for driving 3 km/hr too fast.
in the slow lane. he threatened me with careless driving.
i was using the paddle shift, and the throttle burps, so...
he accused me of speeding up to get away from him, when i was slowing down.

i usually like cops, but this guy needs to patrol security at teh city dump.
