DT doesn't have a Catted LT available...yet...I tread lightly because everything in the industry is different now. Long gone are the days of million dollar inventories and the likes. Those are the businesses that went out of business. It's all about the turns nowadays which means everything is taking more time to produce since the companies don't want to get stuck with all kinds of inventory on hand when economies take the proverbial crap. With that said, I forsee a catted LT on the horizon for Doug Thorley. It only makes sense. What I've seen alot of the fellas doing is replacing the connection piping and installing a spiral wound hi flow cat in it's place. Relatively cheaper and easier to do locally. Still awaiting pics from those who did it... ![]() ![]() ![]() Cue the pics...nowish. ![]() But in all honesty, a catted (read "engineered that way") Long Tube is going to be in the neighborhood of $1000. Kooks run about $1250 and ARH a hair less. That's what I can tell you about the brands I deal in. For a little more than half of those, it's no wonder why alot of the guys are running these DT LT's and catting them locally. Here are a couple examples of High Flow Cats I'd consider if I had to install them myself: $105 each http://www.c5racer.com/catalog/Corve...gn=export_feed $189 a pair http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...onverters-Pair Just a couple thoughts and ideas... And of course, let me know if you need the actual Long Tubes. Best of luck and keep us posted!, Ivan |

So whatever happened with the DT Cat-back system? I asked about this earlier in this thread a little over a month ago. Still don't have them yet? Seems like it was always "they should ship next week", then the next week would roll around and I'd call. Guess what I was told. "they should ship next week". After a month or so of that I finally gave up on them and went with something else. They are nice guys and all and make great headers so I don't know what's going on with the catback. All this happened to me last August/September. I see nothing has changed and that I made a good decision to move on. All this time and still not one Camaro5 member has come forth with their DT catback system. Oh well. Would still like to hear a sound clip...if they ever ship and get installed...

well I'm one of those lovely people that has paid his money for the exhaust and haven't received it yet. they had some problems with the exhaust tips and then they went to another company and bought some and then they found out those exhaust tips where too long. so I guess they had to cut them and now they are etching them. this conversation happened a month ago and I'm still waiting. if I wasn't deployed I would be really pissed off. the person I bought it from (bad karma's boss) has kept me in the loop and told me he would give me my money back if I wanted it. but I said no I'm in this sandbox for 6 months and I have nothing but time

I feel the pain you guys have gone through or are going through. I decided to move on myself after being on the backorder list for 30+ days. Same thing happened to me with Pypes. Ordered 2/10 (before I purchased my car) and cancelled in March after 45+ day delay. I researched further and stumbled upon the Cherry Bomb cat-back and couldn't be happier.

On top of that....even if it didn't throw a code you would probably want a tune any way to make sure the Air/Fuel ratio is good. By adding more air you'll need more fuel to not cause the car to run lean. Run it to lean and you'll burn a piston. Take it in for warranty....they see you have headers....even without a tune GM will probably point to the headers for causing it to run lean and thus burn a piston.....and you'll be out the money for an engine rebuild. Now....I hear the Camaros come pretty rich from the factory so you might get away from the extra air of the headers but personally I wouldn't take that chance. DT shorties will probably not throw a code and probably won't cause any issues. However...the performance increase is not going to be nearly as much as LTs.

![]() Talking with my boss, yes, 15 are supposed to be coming this week to him where they will sent out to all the buyers. Me included since I was one of the first as well.. Hopefully we can all get these bad boys installed and see what the deal is. I've been waiting and haven't even thought of another setup. Kinda been too busy to be honest but I am going to be getting one of the 15 and I will have a sound clip with it and the Doug Thorley Long Tubes on my car. Kinda excited to be honest and I hope that it works out here shortly for everyone. -Ivan |

If you're considering spending 500 for Shorties, do yourself the justice and go for the LT's. There is a significant difference in "real world/usable" power between the two. The shorties are great for the emissions folks, but if you don't need them...rule them out. My opinion of course. There are several different Dyno numbers out there. I've done both locally and have shared that info with those who have asked. There is a sound difference as well. Below 3700 RPMs, not much...after that, night and day. The LT's sound pick up where the shorties leave off. Definite difference there. Perhaps we're ready to see what the LT's sound like on a Catback?? Need some daylight and about 20 minutes and I"ll get you guys some video! Ivan

I've had my DT LT's in my garage for over a month. I really need to get some time off work so I can get these installed. How long did you guys have them on before you threw a code? Of did you tune right away?
