I've changed a LOT in the last month. My 14 year old best friends oldest brother killed himself jumping off a school roof two weeks ago. About a month ago the 16 year old son of very good friends of ours, lost control of the car he was driving on some really wet roads, rolled it and by the grace of god wasn't killed or became paralysed but is so sore he is having a hard time moving or doing anything. He will be in physio for months!

Despite how badly my 14 year old wants to drive the Camaro, there is no way, BUT I dotake him out anytime I go anywhere as he loves riding in the car, is proud to have his friends see him cruising in it (I purposely drive by where I know his buds hang so they see him) I also take him out and show him what the car can do and how to respect the power, be smart, explain how I have been driving for 30+years and thats how and why I can do some of these things. Ya I smoke the tires a bit more than I normally would because it's something we are sharing together..a moment! I am as careful as one can possibly be and never would put him at jeopardy foolishly. Just driving around town can get us in an accident with another driver. As we drive we talk about all kinds of stuff, I talk and show him rules of the road or what Im looking at and why, showing him about other drivers and what they are doing too.

Our time is short, we never know when the meter runs out. I used to be overly worried and stressed about money and so many little things. I havent changed overnight, but have made significant leaps forward after these two incidents.

I am not nearly smart enough to figure out the ways of god, but I do know my son's friends brothers suicide and the others accident did something wonderful in my life and I do not plan to waste any of this gift I was given.

This story just makes one want to stop and really realize that you made this person and how incredible that is in it self. In my case I was blessed with twin girls (mirror twins) and for that to happen it still blows me away. I can not even begin to fathom the pain in losing a child but just knowing that your child is in Heaven waiting for you to join him makes your soul smile. A song by LIBERA "Always With You" your Son will always be with you. Smile!

Wow -- PQ - so pleased that you did this for PQjr.

JustAGuy -- I still cannot read that letter without the tears welling - but I've read it at two separate award ceremonies - and asked Dawson to make sure my voice doesn't break to the point where I can't talk - and he's come thru both times.........

To everyone else........

.......do you remember the first time you saw a Camaro or a Corvette? Those are 'defining' moments..........

......there's nothing like a Camaro to bring generations together -- so please - if you have a 'young-un' - please consider the bond that PQ and PQjr shared -- it may be a defining moment that you look back on 40 years from now with great fondness.

".........the name 'Camaro' means pal, friend, or comrade......thus it suggests the real mission......."

Thumbs up PQ, YOU ARE TRULY SOMEONE SPECIAL!!!

Ok, PQ!!!!...now you've done it....

I already cried my eyes out when I first read the Fbodfather's story about Dawson....

I just about recovered from THAT story, and then you have to go and post YOUR story...

Soooooooooooo, here I sit, once again, crying like a baby and having goosebumps all over....

I already 'think the world' of you and Bonnie... however, now I really and truly want to give you a 'virtual hug' and a HUGE thumb's up for doing something so special for your son, and also to honor the memory of Dawson at the same time...

While I am sitting here typing this, I am hearing 3 Doors Down's song playing in the background titled: "Live Your Life Like It's The Only One You've Got"...how appropriate and timely, and a big coincidence...

Now you know what has to come next..................you guessed it, right?.....

The 'world famous, always for PQ, "prima"Donna smiley dance'...lol...

Good story. Went to the thread about Dawson too; just a shame. Feel for his folks. Life is short, shorter for some than others. I'm sure Dawson remembered his rides in the Camaro just as sure as your son will always remember the first time he drove "Dad's Car"!

Ya, I opened up a can on this too. A good can though. My son wants to drive it all the time now. lol

Which would be fine, but it's up on jacks stands for a while. :(
