Drifting is cheaper then most forms of factory backed auto-sport and it's getting fairly high recognition these days. There's quite a few Detroit/GM's out there at the top level.

Guess I'm too old, can you translate?

Personally I'd rather hook up-n-go not sit-n-spin.

you don't sit-n-spin. it's about controlling the car as it loses traction around a turn. the more out-of-control (farther sideways) you can get while keeping your speed up & not letting the other guy pass you, the more points you get. maybe this will help.

Biggest hurddle for GM to specifically sponsor a drift car I bet would be money (which at the moment they don't have). I bet you though someone out there will use the new Camaro as a drift car.

Actually, you make it sound cooler than it is. Drifting is like figure skating, sure you can practice and become better, but does anybody care?

I respect other people's taste but I have to say it is possibly the least entertaining version of "racing" I have ever seen. I keep waiting for the guy in the back to pass the other guy, because that is what you do on a track. Not find the slowest, coolest way around a corner. I would rather watch lawnmower racing anyday.

I really thought (hoped) that this ridiculous fad had died out.

That being said, in the spirit of the thread it's a no-brainer that such a car will exist, but I doubt it will be made by GM...someone will just do it.

Maybe if it was RWD or AWD.

If they built something like this I would agree with you.

^^ looks like they built a car from the ground up, slapped a modded body on it & called it a Scion
