For mot Camaro owners, the SS brakes will do the job on the track as long as you use track pads. I have used Cobalt Friction XR1 front and XR3 rear with the SS calipers and rotors. They worked very well. The CF pads are noisy. They eat rotors. They stop like you chucked an anchor out the window.

Heat is the real issue. These are two ton vehicle flying around the track at race car like speeds. There is minimal cooling air flow. Brake ducts would be a huge plus. Removing the dust shields helps some.

We do NOT sell Cadillac brakes, but I do use them on our Pedders USA Camaro V-SS

Shorter sessions will help. 20 minutes is too long for most systems on the car: brakes, differential, coolant, and engine oil. 15minutes is the difference between light wear and heavy wear due to excess heat.

Anyway's just wanted to give an update,
before i was looking at going with the 550 package, but last week after a month of debating i pulled the plug, talked with Ryan and put a deposit down on the 650 package with a few extra's. I AM SO RELIEVED!! That has been all ive thought about and now i can rest asure that my camaro will be well taken care of.

I talked to Hendrix and will be purchasing some axles very soon as well as an NLP spoiler! The car goes to LPE around the 15-20 of July and will be done at the same time i get home (around 1 Sept).

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for helping me out with a lot of questions that i had. Some of you including 570LPE even gave me your home phone #'s to call anytime. If thats not a brotherhood than i have no clue what one is!!

Thanks guy's for all the great advise! I will send another update when i can.

BTW it's freaking hot here!!!!!

(all new Pedders suspension, custom rims and tires on the way)
Congrats Man!

You will NOT be dissapointed.

Pete,
I will check on the dust shields and probably remove those. I am also using the Hawk HPS pads, so they aren't too rough on the rotors. I will be cutting down to about 7 laps in a session so it cuts down my run times to about 15 minutes, thanks for the input, as always. I have to say the stock SS brakes work very well on the track and I am not getting much fade at all.

At the end of the 20 minute session a couple times on the long straight..... it was at the point of "my foots at the floor and I was praying to God that I was going to slow down enough for the first corner" It was to the point where I had to use a little engine braking to slow down enough, its all learning the limits of the car. Going 140mph on the straight and diving into the corner a little too deep is not a good combo. Its decent at the beginning of the session but not at the end.

Hey Paul, how's your little upgrade coming along?
My little upgrade is coming along nicely. We are looking at around 3 weeks or so and maybe sooner I hope. We are just waiting for a couple more parts to get here. The old motor is out and my car is just patiently waiting for the new motor which I am unable to disclose to many details about yet.

Congrats on the package you will love it!! The 10/14 set up is awesome and if you want one I am sure that Ryan would be more then happy to hook you up. The 10/14 is an exclusive LPE manufactured product.

It looks like the Racing Brake rotors may be better but they were about 4 times the price and I have a feeling I will be going through rotors too often to justify the higher price. I will let you guys know how they work out.

Speed the rotors look really sweet. Lingenfelter has had rotors and brakes for sale that fit the Camaros since day one. The cost of just the rotors are very reasonable and you can get cross drilled or slotted. I love mine they are awesome. http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...gory_Code=C374

So true, if you make it thru the apex it's all down hill from there.
Last time I had my car out I was running about 130 and ended up catching some air on a bump I never paid attention to at 60. But you know the car was rock solid and held the line, of course my head was in the headliner...but I held her straight.

I did get the newsletter, but before that Ryan had already hooked me up. He and i have been talking for months now and he sweetened the pot a little better.

Thank you! My father is the one installing the Coilover's and he may need assistance in getting them dialed in just right for the drag. Thanks for offering your assistance.
