Daily Drivable?

i'm thinking about getting a 2011 sometime in the near future, would having this car as my only vehicle be possible?

the main thing i'm concerned about is driving in snow.

People have driven it in the snow. IMHO, way too many people think this car doesn't drive in the rain as well. I think that with a good set of snow & ice tires, this car would be just fine in the snow.

Haha. It snowed here in February(pretty hard too) And I drove my car to work in it. Wasn't so bad. Defiantly a new experience lol.

A DD? No problem. I've put over 8000 miles on in four months on my 2010 SS. WOO!

As far as winter goes... you'll need to get a proper set of winter tires (narrow width, winter tread) and you'll be fine in 95% of the weather.

Snow storms (blizzards) will be little rough, but doable.

Hope that helps!

Of course it is daily drive-able!

Get snow tires- not all season radials- and rims for them. You want tall skinny snow tires. This cuts through snow and slush instead of spreading weight and riding on top

The new Camaros are powerful cars, but they have a lot of engineering built into them; electronic controls, dedicated snow tires and knowledge of when not to treat the gas pedal as an on/off switch will take care of it

Speaking from experience, my daily driver from 1989 through 1997 12 months a year in Massachusetts was a muscle car with 510 lb/ft of torque at 2200 rpm. I got stuck exactly once, and that's because I wouldn't take the big fat T/A radials off it

You'll be fine, but you have to remember that the car will not be 'point and squirt' with the nose anymore when the roads see snow. Ease on the gas. Don't downshift like you're at Le Mans. Consider being in a gear too high to cut the torque multiplication. Driving a RWD car in snow is not the impossibly daunting and terrifying ordeal urban myth makes it out to be

For little over $1,100 Got a set of rims with P-Ice & Snot tire Mounted and balanced.
Car handled well in packed and light snow. 6"-8" and under.
Not so good in 12"-24" that is what the AV is for.

They say the same on my 260 lb/ft Solstice GXP. I can't figure out if they are talking about the same car I drive. Rain is fun in this car

We went to NJ Moter Sport Race way on ThunderBolt and Ran all Day in the Camaros. Reduced our speeds but stayed on the track.

I had mine stuck in 3 inches of snow on my driveway. So I would discourage driving it on ice or snow. As far as rain, I didn't notice any real difference compared to a fwd. But driving it on snow and ice is just asking for trouble.
