Anyone with a V6 Auto know how much of a difference it makes with traction control off? I'm sure we don't get that chirp when shifting into second gear?

I leave mine on. I have tried it both ways. The car has pretty good traction with it off so there isn't much difference for me (L99 A6), maybe with a manual it's a little different. However the traction control and stabilitrac work wonders when you need them. I think the benefit of having it on is worth it.

Commits weekly crime
|
If I'm on public roads, it's on almost all the time.
When I'm at the track, it's off.

One of the things that makes this car great is its stability and traction. I would not turn mine off except under pristine conditions and probably not even then. Those of you who have or have had other generation Camaros without these features will probably know exactly what I'm talking about. You take a turn alittle too fast, hit some sand and the next thing you know, you do a 180 and you're facing the other direction and thats if your lucky and don't hit anything. JMO.

I've chirped in 2nd and 3rd with TC on. What is the difference with TC off (i know what it does) but does it chirp longer with less control?

With all the nannies on my car still gets sideways. No need to turn them off.

for daily driving they are on but as other say if you want to turn them off it is more fun. but just be safe b/c it is super easy to get the car sideways with them all off.
as for the chirp I can easily chirp the tires in first and into second with the nannies on. I have the M6 not sure about the autos. |

Its no V8 but TC off makes one heck of a difference on the 6 as well. You can easily smoke the tires from stop to flooring it, if thats your intent. When turning you can slide the car at a decent speed too. As long as you dont have passengers or too much extra weight in the trunk u can make this a pretty swifty car. And this is bone stock. with a few mods or weight reduction u might want to keep the TC on so u dont lose control.

I have had the car a month and have yet to have it street driven with the nannies off. I guess I am still not confident enough to do so, but tonight when the cars leave the streets I might give it a shot...I won't try to deceive you in saying I haven't spun a couple of D-nuts or pasted a months worth of tire on the ground with it off, just saying I have yet to take it to the roads.

off, rain what's that ? if it was raining though then I would turn it on but I only drove once in the rain and really don't like it because you have to be so careful to keep the wheels from spinning (even with TC on) so I just don't drive in the rain with the camaro. TC doesn't prevent the tires from breaking lose but when they do it will pull engine timing.
