V6 is the best option for a daily driver.
Lower cost of insurance, lower cost of gas, better mileage.
If you're not racing, do you need to get from 0-60 one second faster?

I'd like to see a V6 vs V8 race for 300-400 miles.

I asked myself "in what conditions are you going to be driving the car?"
For me, its going to be my daily driver, so deep snow, lots of spring rain, and it has to fit golf clubs for the summer.

I drove my '95 Z28 in the winter one year and HAD to get snow tires and keep it under 2500 rpm at ALL times. The car had too much torque to start from a light without spinning. So it was easy for me to decide on the V6. it has more HP than the '95, but less torque. And I actually prefer rear wheel drive in the winter!

But if the new camaro was going to be my summer only car, then i would have ordered the V8.

Yes I love the car so much that I think I could have a V-6 version just to drive everyday. I was very impressed with the traction control and stabilitrak in the rain. Does the V-6 feel just as safe in bad weather? I wonder how the V-6 would do in the snow>? Anyone know ?

So how is it in the snow? Is the stabilitrak and TC doing their jobs ? I was really impressed with my SS when I got caught in the rain.

The argument of V6 vs. V8 here is like the 9mm vs. .40 vs .45 discussions on the gun forums lol.
I test drove all of them before I bought my car and you can definately feel the difference in the ride between the ss and the V-6. The V-6 felt less tight or strong, and I'm not talking about the engine. I can't put the exact words on it , but it was definately a different car.

Theres no doubt about that. Up hare a guy got 14.4 in the quarter, my best time in my stock formula 350 was 14.1.. The v-6 is a good car.

Love mine.
The manual has the SS posi rear end too. I'd like the manual, but it's nice to chill in my A6 SS. It really doesn't matter all 2010 camaros are fast strong good cars. I'm think of a year round 4 season DD, so what I'd really like to know is how the V-6 is in the snow and ice, and going thru small snowbanks if needed. The stabilitrac works just as good as the SS right ??? Who here has driven one in the snow for a whole winter??

The v-6 guys are haveing just as much fun as the v-8 guys. You can hardly tell the cars apart, they just look so good.

Aside from the "ohhh i want a V8" factor, are you going to do anything with the car that will require the performance upgrades the SS trim lines feature?

If you get the RS you will have the 20 inch wheels. You can buy the SS sway bars. So I wonder if you did these two things and lowered the gears in the v-6 if you could get to the stock SS level of performance for cheap money. But those 20 perelli's are NG in the snow. So how are the stock V-6 tires in the snow ?

I have a Z06, and am buying a 2011 2LT (if it ever gets here) as a second daily driver. The V6 has more power than most of the older V8s. I never get tired of shifting the 6 speed on the Z06, but opted for the automatic on the Camaro.

hahaha, that should place the macho one.... Well I traded in my second gen v8 Camaro (with a 4speed Muncie to a MANUAL 2LT and I am very happy indeed. 300 plus horses is puhlenty and I drive it every day. people are failing to mention the this dual overhead cam V6 is SIDI direct injection technology. this high 11.3 compression ratio is one of the reasons that the LLT is so powerful for the displacement. that that diesel like sound you hear under the hood, the injectors shoot gas right into the cylinder at over 2000 lbs of pressure.

The next gen V8 will be a smaller displacement and similar power as it will be probably also a direct injection engine. buy what fits into your lifestyle....do you drive it daily? Do you need all that displacement? Do you winter drive as I do?

I am very happy with my V6, no regrets here! Time for a drive home, I am m out right now....

Get the SS if you can afford it. I had a 2005 V6 Mustang before and hated seeing the V8 mustangs on the road because I wanted one so bad. For me it was V8 or no camaro, if I wanted a V6 I would have gotten a 370Z.

You'll be happy with the V6. If you want more power after you get it, hang tight for the upcoming turbo kits.

I love my V6... no clutch issues although I did see a thread about some having a problem with 2nd gear... mine is just fine though.

I did drive mine daily all winter... I drive about 80 miles round trip to work and have driven it through several snow storms. I did put the pirelli scorpion snow and ice tires on it but I've got to say that it has been one of the BEST cars I've ever driven in the winter.

I live in Minnesota and drive my V6 daily. The car is great in snow-not with the Pzero's. I bought a set of Yokahma Prada Spec-X in the RS package matched set 20 inch size. Forget the TC. The car starts better without it and the Stabi-track won't let you get in troble. If you get more than about 2 degrees off straight, it yanks you back into control. Even on ice!
