I can't remember all the details of that road and track.

Was the 5.0 equipped with 3.73 gear?

Edit: Just read the Stang did have the 3.73 gear. Which gears the car pretty much for the 1/4.

Boy that V6 Mustang performed well.

Stupid 113mph limiter though. lol

Running a 14.0 wasn't bad though for the stang.

You would only hope that the difference in shifting gear to gear would not be that significant, after all this is what these people do for a living. If my wife was in the SS and a professional was in the GT I would agree...

The article and OP is comparing cars, 1/4mile factors in both driver and car. My example is the most objective pure speed compaison that can be inferred.

Unsubscribing to a thread that will never be objective...

So for the past week every day I drive home from summer school Ive been seeing a brand new mustang either a 2010 or 2011 and today I left school and saw the mustang as usual and we both stopped at the light next to each other. I look over and the guy in the mustang signals me to roll down my window I do so and he tells me he wants to race me down to the end of the street and of course Im not a street racer or any kind of racer at that so I say no and begin rolling my window up. As I roll my window up I hear him shout "whats the matter afraid I'll smoke your POS camaro?" so than I decide the streets not that long one quick race won't hurt so I say ok fine you got yourself a race. and he gets all excited and revs his engine and I rev mines as well. Than he looks over and I rev the engine again and all of a sudden hes like "you know what I don't want to embarrass you by smokin your car" and than makes a right turn and drive off and than the light turns green and I make a left and continue driving off but couldn't help laughing at how that guy chickened out after hearing my engine roar

No worries, the negative impacts that street racing can have far out weigh some one's pride..

You would hope...but some do lift-throttle shifts, some not. Some run right to redline, some do not. Some are simply better.

Good luck against the Mustang D-bag. The 2011's will have a 5.0 badge on the fender.
