If you have not figured out, trying to save/spend money wisely.

Another question and dumb I'm sure....

The CherryBomb V8 kit has the Xpipe.... which eliminates the resonators.

I just got a V8 stock exhaust. If I cut off the stock mufflers and weld only the CherryBomb mufflers, with the resonators still there, what will this affect in sound, performance as opposed to the CherryBomb V8 Kit catback?

I know they are resonators, but my ignorance in the subject is such that i do not know how it will affect their function.

Hope it makes sense and thanks in advance.

Performance wise, I don't think you'd do much better either way. One of the reasons I'm changing out is to ditch these heavy-ass mufflers(which you're intending on doing) and going with a better sound(which you also intend on doing). It may have a different note to it due to having the stock resonators, but I can't see it being much different.

Last two pics are after I've abused my baby. Be advised this system is not for the weak, it throws out some serious tunes. If you want your V6 to sound like a V12 this is the kit for you.

Just put ours on Sat. wow it does sound like a V12 from 4K to 7K. The best $400 spent on a car this year.

Did it with jack stands and was not quite plug and play but well worth it!

what do you mean by it was not quite plug and play? what did you have to do to make it work?

..more cumbersome when working w/ stands(vs lift). Takes more time getting things to line up just right, cuz of workspace obviously, and if you're DIY...

I just took mines off and tried to use the axle backs on the stock exhaust but they did not line up. I loved the sound though, definitely not a v6 tone. Many SS drivers would drive across and give me bewildered looks. Some people even told me it sounded like a Ferrari when I get on it! Only problem is that its not passenger friendly, often too loud to carry a convo with somebody even when straddling with the rpms. However, a cat-back cheaper than any other axleback, you can't beat that! Enjoy your new exhaust Mojo!

2010slvrbulit is right.
I just didn't have room to work.
Plug and play reference was tha fact that I did need to use a pipe expander on 3 of the pipes to get them to slide on enough and allow me to rotate them enough to line them up with the holes in the defusser.

Even so the passenger tip needed persuation with a 1x1 stuck in it and applied pressure toward passenger side of car to center it in hole of defusser.

But I will say again; for 400.00 it is fantastic sound! and well worth the 5hrs spent.

Cherry Bomb cat back made the drone worser for me and sounded loud as well. I just took off the whole thing and went for magnaflow, I still have the drone but nothing too annoying.

Wheres the vids guy? would like to see a few decent quality vids of the cherry bombs. have been considering swapping, and ive only seen the one video and it was a little rough. I figure if you keep the stock h-pipe and resonators, and go with just the mufflers, like the extremes, it probably wont sound half bad. as far as the catback goes, with the x-pipe and no resonators.. i dont know. might be a little too much. opinions? and please guys post up some vids.
