Here's an idea for that engine rebuild: LS9 build

Heinz may need a couple more tools...(and rotating engine stand).

It looks like they sell the kit complete with the harness. Doesn't look too hard. I sent a pm to Steve@submthump and asked him a few questions.
Hey Emma, I came across an aftermarket cam kit last night just for the L99 but didn't link much of it at the time. I'll look through my browser history see if I can find it again.

Also, the car has settled down to 30 all round with the SS springs.

I saw that and thought they gave you a block and a parts bin and let you go wild. But sadly you can only build the stock engines and for $5300.

Hank,
The Butternut is to look like straw, that way the chickens will be more at home when they are roosting on it.

Interesting intro to the group, but I like the spirit.

Welcome,

We've had a few meetings but mostly down this way and Cincinnati. Time for us to meet somewhere in Columbus area, give us some ideas.

Last Fall there was a cruise in Hocking, and we've talked about some of the other "winding" roads in SE Ohio.

Check out this thread: Get together ideas

Looks like it has become bigger than SW Ohio.

Like the ABM, might be the first one I've seen on the road here in Ohio. We saw a few down at C5Fest in April and were really impressed with the color. Can't wait to see it, and the painted stripes. Too bad they stopped offering it, I think too many people pictured it in their minds wrong and were afraid to order it. Good choice.

Hope everything works OK for you when you get it back. Must be frustrating, to say the least.

Sure hope you take your time with any major engine mods or power adders. If you have the patience to wait, you'll have lots of different options to listen to and test drive yet this year. Go to that F-Body summit in Sept. as there will be some "highly modded" engines there for sure. Then you can start eliminating some of the choices and make it easier to decide what you want. You've got one awesome looking and sounding muscle car right now, enjoy it.

I have to say, I'm really disappointed with Showstoppers. I went to Showstoppers because some of you have had good luck with him, but my experience has been not so good. After a long delay in getting my calipers from him (he put the calipers he promised me on another car and then I had to wait a month to get mine), I got my calipers last week. When they opened the package at the shop, there was brake fluid leaking out of the fittings (fortunately, they cleaned it up quickly and so far the paint seems ok). But now after looking at them, I see he painted the fittings on the calipers. It's not a catastrophe, but it just shows a lack of attention to detail.

Showstoppers bragged to me about how he does meticulous work and, therefore, is more expensive than other shops. Well, I'm not impressed. I can't recommend Showstoppers to anyone after my experience.
Geez, DE! I am so sorry to hear this. If anything, you should get a break on the cost.
