I have to say, I'm really disappointed with Showstoppers. I went to Showstoppers because some of you have had good luck with him, but my experience has been not so good. After a long delay in getting my calipers from him (he put the calipers he promised me on another car and then I had to wait a month to get mine), I got my calipers last week. When they opened the package at the shop, there was brake fluid leaking out of the fittings (fortunately, they cleaned it up quickly and so far the paint seems ok). But now after looking at them, I see he painted the fittings on the calipers. It's not a catastrophe, but it just shows a lack of attention to detail.

Showstoppers bragged to me about how he does meticulous work and, therefore, is more expensive than other shops. Well, I'm not impressed. I can't recommend Showstoppers to anyone after my experience.
Pete has been really responsive when I have emailed with any issues. As far as the paint gos I think he uses a body shop. The return address on everything he sends me is some collision shop. Might be the painter who jacked up. I will say his stuff although not perfect is really nice.

Mike

ABM as well as just about every other color is one of the things I think GM could have done a better job marketing. Heck, IBM wasn't even on my list but when I saw it I had to have it. It will be nice to have ABM rolling in our group, then all we need is a SGM and we will have all colors.

That sucks! This almost sounds like something that would normally be saved for someone like Hank or Paul.

I want to be able to hop in it and drive it to Dayton (or further) no problem. I added all PST bushings and power brakes (disc up front). I am keeping the 327 with powerglide. It wont be fast... or quick but thats not what I am shooting for. I am the opposite of Randy, if I want to rip up pavement, I will use the NEW car! No plans to do anything to the powertrain unless I have to. I did freshen it up.. carb, intake, headers, MSD distrubutor, Flowmaster exhaust... I know I am going to need help getting it running.

My intent has always been to give it to Kristen when its done. She was helping me last night and she said she wanted a Camaro of her own. She said she wanted a Synergy Green 2SS... Well... thats not gonna happen but I will transfer this one over the her when its done. I have the other 2. The 67 is very special to both of us so i think she will enjoy it. I want her to be able to hop in it whenever she wants and go... WISH ME LUCK!

It will be butternut yellow with a black vinyl top, black interior and black bumblebee stripe on the nose. We are adding the rear spoiler and corvette rallys but other than that, its back to original appearance. Not sure what wheels it had originally.
I love cars that are built as drivers! I was talking to someone the other day and I told them I wouldn't want a numbers matchting car cause I would want to tear it apart and put modern stuff in it. I agree with what you are doing with this car. It also helped me make my mind up that I need to find a car that is missing it's origional drivetrain cause I would tear it out and replace it with fuel injection, 5 or 6 speed manual, and air conditioning of course.

Oh man... thats the problem with box type stores. They lack the knowledge or concern to work on custom stuff.

Good luck! :(

I somehow think some of these car places jerk women around because they think we don't know any better. Then when we protest their poor work, we're called a bitch. So, we're either treated as though we're stupid or unreasonable. Sometimes we can't win.

I honestly don't understand why I seem to have hit so many snags with my rims. I should have just purchased the blower with that money!
DE,
I know it can be a pain, but when the rims and the brakes are on. You will enjoy it. Just sit back, take a deep breath, and go outside and scream. My motto has away's been, "Murphy was a optimist." I found that to be true on most things. I can always loan you a hammer and you can go out and make little rocks out of big rocks to relieve your frustrations. The main thing is not to lose sight of why you wanted the rims, and when they are finally on. You can be proud of them.
Bubba.

I try to stay optimistic. The wheels are purdy. I'm sure it will all work out. It just seems to be one thing after another. (I think it might be a test of my character!)
We could all just follow you into the parking lot. If they saw a bunch of Camaros roll in and Hank with a crow bar I bet they will get the point rather quick.

Welcome,

We've had a few meetings but mostly down this way and Cincinnati. Time for us to meet somewhere in Columbus area, give us some ideas.

Last Fall there was a cruise in Hocking, and we've talked about some of the other "winding" roads in SE Ohio.

Check out this thread: Get together ideas

Looks like it has become bigger than SW Ohio.
Columbus would be a good idea because there's city space for meeting up and hanging out, then country roads right outside 270. I don't know of any nice roads up here that aren't either sprinkled with gravel or without blind hills and turns....I'll ask the locals here. I just moved from hawaii about a year ago, so I'm still trying to figure Ohio out.

Thank you! A lot of my friends think it's a girly color, but it's a nice metallic color....and it's something different from the everyday colors of cars. It's NOTHING like the Synergy Green though! haha I haven't seen another ABM on the road in columbus. I only saw 2 at my dealership and those were purchased by the dealership when they got wind GM was discontinuing it.

I completely agree! I'm a huge fan of the Red Jewel too! Green's going to be a tough one to come by. No one's going to want to order one until they can take them for the SS

First thing you should know.

Ohio has four seasons. Not spring/summer/fall/winter.

Almost winter, winter, still winter, and construction.
