That was a good read. I don't like to play games like that, it frustrates me. I've found a couple good salespeople and I really try to stick with them.

took me a long time to read through it all... so here's the spoiler... shop around, use the internet to find the true value of the car you want to buy, and shop for loans before going to the dealer

See, now I got a different idea from it. If I'm ever in a bad mood and want to let off some steam, I should go down to a car dealership, work my way through the salesman, and ruin the sales manager's day right up to the point of seeing veins pop out of his forehead. Seems like a great person to take out your frustrations on if you have to pick somebody!

I just bought a 2010 Dodge Ram using my company's employee pricing program, it was a great experience and they gave me the deal (1% UNDER dealer invoice plus rebates) no questions asked. Our Camaro was the same story; GMS pricing, no questions asked. Not all dealers and not all salesmen are bad.

All the more reason to put the whole car buying experience on the internet. You can see everything about the car, customize everything, and get the loan online. Hell, you can even get teh car delivered to your house.

If you don't have a trade-in, there's no reason that the first time you ever need to get off the couch is to pick up the keys.

Yep or be so well off that you don't care what you pay, as long as you get what you want.

Id never buy new if I had to shoe string it, I gotta be able to not care that 1st ill get bent over on the sale and then once again soon as it drives off the lot n I lose even more.

Gotta be willing to jut about piss away 10k you'll never get back to buy anything good.

I read this, and I think its interesting, but it makes it look like all salesman/dealerships are horrible. If you know the real price of the car, if you know the incentives/interest rates, and you have KBB print outs of the trade in, how can you get taken that badly? You can't. I found that walking in sure of yourself and what you want erases all this crap. I said I want this car for this amount, this interest incentive, and this is what I want for trade. Done.
