Trailing arms from BMR
Hello, question on the trailing arms. When changing the stock arms over to BMR's do you use the same bolts? Says no hardware included. Also what to torq the bolts to? Will be for a 2ss l99. BMR part# TCA026R
IS this a easy job to do at home? I think the olds ones just need taken off or do shocks and other stuff need to come off as well??? |

Yes, you will use the original bolts. Bolts torque to 80ft. lbs. accordind to BMR. And yes, it is a pretty easy job to do at home. If you take the tires off it is much easier and just the old ones need to come off. On my 2SS LS3 I installed trailing arms, toe rods, sub-frame connectors, tunnel brace and the outer bushings( at the wheel end of the trailing arms) , all with no problem.
In fact , if you go on the BMR web site you can view the installation instructions for each part #. The trailing arms have urethane bushings, so you will need synthetic grease. |

Like everyone else already said you use the stock hardware and torque to 80ft lbs. These parts can easily be installed in your driveway in 1-2 hours using simple hand tools. You will need to grease the bushings using a synthetic grease to help keep squeaks down and bushing life. IMHO they are the best bang for the buck mod when it comes to 2010 Camaro suspension stuff. If you have any question or would like to order a set give me a call at the shop. (813)986-9302
Thanks, Kyle |

Dumb question on the arms. The stock ones are open and the BMR's are closed. So the BMR's will not hit or have problems when the suspension is moving? What do the BMR's weigh?

Our trailing arms are not completely closed in, so they have plenty of movement with no chance of binding. We have a ton of these trailing arms out there on 2010 Camaros and Pontiac G8s without any issues what so ever. Our trailing arms on some of the fastest if not the fastest 2010 Camaros on the street. One of our customers just ran 5.93 in the 1/8th mile and cut a 1.38 60ft not too long ago so you kow they work and work well. Our BMR trailing arms are a bit heavier then stock but they need to be to keep the strength and rigidity of the piece. The trailing arms is not really were I would worry about weight.

Does the part that the trailing arm goes to with out the bushing need to be greased? Did not say in the instructions, so I will leave it along unless u tell me other wise. I seen a tread of a different brand that the guy put grease on that part.

Did get the arms on the car. The torque wrench needed a swivel on the bottom bolt so it would work. We took the car out and held that traction control button down till both lights came on and then put the pedal to the floor and the Tires did not squeal at all!!! The car has Nitto nt555r's on the rear. They where squealing before the arms where installed, not now!!! We can not believe it! Hope its the same way at the track!
