true, just look at the latest pictures of the convertible just released the other day, two of the things that people were complaining about have been taken care of (the keyhole and AM-FM Antenna), now for the fin and hi mounted stop light on the trunk...
So those that are complaining about details, don't take all the things you see on this car as being the final version.. I bet we haven't seen half of what they have planned...

Honestly, the Z28 is going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. If this car starts in the low to mid 40's? It will sell. My thing is though... What will i do with 505hp on the street? On the Z forum, there are a ton of Z06 converts. there reason for going to a 370z is that in street driving, 505hp is way too much. (and overall improved handling of a smaller/lighter car) so theres no room for much fun unless you are planning on doing over 100mph and the vette reaches 100 waaayy too fast. Which honestly, you can barely ever do. My experience with the SS is similar but not as bad as the Z06 i presume. when you switch to paddles and shift aggressive it can be fun when the paddles dont cut you off. (6at doesnt allow you to shift too aggressively which sucks) but the SS reaches 100mph in mere seconds.
the v6 just doesnt do it for me. a 6+ second 312hp car doesnt scream performance. For my taste i need a minimum of 5.5/13.8 STOCK PERFORMANCE, anything higher is null and void in my book. that said the SS performance is near perfect. (my only wish is that it revved a little higher, 7000-7200rpm anyone? (Ive gotten used to high revving imports) All and all, my hats go off to future Z/28 owners who will be tracking often. That car will rule the track!!!

Good question. To which I ask another -- what could you do with 556hp?

Although, how do we know it will stop there. 556hp is so yesterday.

Here is my feeling. The GT500 has been out and I'm sure those at GM have looked at their specs. The 10, 11, and prior GT500's are great, don't get me wrong. I just think GM has their sights locked in, if only for the present time (Ford ups the 12 GT500) when the Z28 is released.

The Z is likely to be a '12 MY. It's impossible for Ford to react that quickly. MAYBE 2013 if they have something waiting in the wings purposefully. More probably 2014.

oh I agree, maybe 12 is too soon. But do you agree with my general thoughts?

That the Ford will 'answer', and the game will continue? Absolutely.

I don't think it'll be strictly hp, though. When both cars are redone mid-decade...(that's assuming a LOT, so forgive me), I expect to see many changes...almost like shifting gears.

I wouldn't write them off so casually. They were expecting the 2010 Camaro and prepared the 2011 Mustang accordingly. And everyone was expecting a 2011 Z28, until things went kablooey. So Ford could easily have a better GT500 ready to go for 2012.

Unless this GT500 is what they had planned...

Anyways, I'm not writing them off. I just don't think they can react that quickly....even IF they had something waiting in the wings. And if Ford does, you'd bet that Chevy does as well....which brings us back to Square 1!
