In reality, in any given area, most of the fuel comes from the same refinery. The addatives are added to the fuel while loading onto truck.
And in places such as LA, Dallas, Chi, etc. The jobbers that deliever the fuel, can get the fuel from multiple refineries and dump it all into the same storage tank at the station. A busy station can recieve fuel multiple times a day, all from a different refinery. So in reality, the additives are the only thing you are voting on here.

I read on another thread on this forum that tuners routinely saw increased knock retard with the use of shell gasoline

Chevron, Mobil, or Shell for me. And ill mix between 87 and 93 octane.

Usually i have a drive around and look at the average price of gas in my area and consistantly, its this one particular shell gas station that sthe cheapest. So i go there.
