with that said though, there is nothing wrong with a soild rear in a muscle car. specially if you taking it down the strip. case in piont terminator cobra owner that are making serious power ditching there irs to go with a soild rear.
Your statement is very logical and held true until a few months ago.

The heavy 2011 GT500 (3800lbs) with its solid rear axle will pull more G's (1.01) and is quicker around VIR then a 2010 Corvette Gran Sport which is a true sports car with IRS.

It is a RWD, and I guess nobody got my stupid joke. The engine is a 6.0L LS2, I said I got a 5.0 ... passenger trailblazer because it seats 5 people. Ok, any joke that needs that much explanation is pretty lame I must admit.

It is a great truck, I am going to keep it pretty much stock, just some stereo upgrades and a little louder exhaust. The srt8 is a great vehicle too, although I didn't really want/need awd and they are more expensive, and harder to find. I know the GC srt8's are faster but I think this truck is a better overall package for the price, and I think it looks better too.

Plus I LS motors and vehicles, so it was an easy choice!

When you drive the car off the lot and immediately take it to the track I expect nothing less.

For those of us who daily drive the car and break it in properly and run on street tires at the track, I don't believe this to be the case.

Now when folks start putting stickies on their cars and launching at 6K you can expect a stock clutch needing replacement. I don't care what car you drive in this price range and several higher, when you start doing that you are on borrowed time and yes the stock clutch needs to be upgraded.

I would not call this a systemic issue, weak link or a problem.

Awesome, RWD is the better choice anyways as i have read the AWDs have a few issues

The 5.0 seems to be optimized for a one-person drag race on a smooth track, but while trying to provide a little
driving excitement for a passenger the Camaro should show a relatively negligible slowdown relative to the smaller 5.0. Any comments?
when you factor in tq multiplication due to gearing, the 5.0 makes more tq than the LS3, so it would do better still if you add weight to both.

Figure a half tank + driver adds 275 pounds of weight to the car (200 pound driver+ 75 pounds of fuel)

So in the neighborhood of 3850-3900 pounds

I knew the 5.0 was already the better bang for the buck but damn.
