Just thought I would post pic of my car with the Borla S series with 4" tips and GFX. Just thought I would let you know it can be done.

I ordered GMPP exhaust and the GFX is sitting in my living room awaiting my camaro arrival. I am a bit worried now.

The fact is false! I have chrome tips and I have my kit on. I took a gamble with my car even the mechanic and the service advisor were amazed when it out for a road trip after the gfx kit install and no buzzing.

Un-Cut SS tips in GM GFX

I have a 2SS/RS. My dealer installed the GM Ground Effects. The dealer did not modify the stock SS exhaust tips. I recently found out the dealer should have cut off the beveled edge and installed the tips that come with the GM GFX kit, but they failed to do that. The SS tips fit OK and there is sufficient clearance all around so they do not rattle or make any noise. I have been looking at GFX photos in this forum and it seems quite a few GM GFX have the original SS beveled tips so it seems most of the dealerships are not cutting the exhaust as the kit recommends. I would think the flush "non-beveled" tip may look better than the bevel, but if you do not study it, leaving the bevel is not something that sticks out like a sore thumb.

If someone wants to do me a favor, please let me know if the 92248560 kit front spoiler installs without removing the entire front fascia. My front ground effects is currently off the car and waiting for my dealer to reinstall a brand new spoiler because the first one came off (because the dealer failed to install the rivets). The first generation of GM GFX fastened the front spoiler with a combination of 2 sided tape and rivets. In order to set the 4 front rivets the entire front fascia has to be removed. I have heard that the new kit 92248560 was revised so the fascia does not need to be removed. I would appreciate someone looking at the instructions and let me know if this is true.

you need those front rivets. The orig design did not require the front rivets, just the side rivets and and 3m tape across the front. Mine was one of the first ones installed with the revised instructions to install the front rivets, in addition to the side rivets and 3m tape. Yes, the front fascia has to be removed from the car to install the rivets and is the last step of the front installation. If the front rivets are not installed, the 3m tape is not strong enough to hold up the front lip in extended freeway speed driving and the front lip will eventually drag on the ground.

Yeah it just doesn't look right IMO with the tips sticking out like that. It's actually pretty easy to do yourself, but you need the covers that come with the GFX kit so they're rounded out after you cut the muffler tips. I think the whole point of the GFX bezels was to not see the exhaust tips. Looks a lot better when it's installed right like so. Even with aftermarket kits with the huge tips, if you really want the GFX to fit right just trim the tips a few inches.

Soundwave, I agree. After studying the difference and comparing yours with mine, the cut and covered tips have the best look. Those beveled "stock" tips inside the GFX bezel just don't look right. Dealers taking short-cuts, that's all it is.

That's garbage especially since they're probably taking some of your money to put them on. I was able to do it myself, but I went through 3 sawzall blades lol. Make them do it!
