This type of situation is nothing new. Whether it happened as the buyer claims in this case or not. I understand GM offered the buyer half of what a re-paint would cost. That is a slap in the face in my opinion. The penalty for those dealers that do this and are caught should be severe. However as far as I know, GM does not police dealers at all. That is why I mentioned in another post of mine above that GM should hire detectives to pose as buyers and check out secretly at random the dealers in their network with the highest complaints from the BBB and weed those dealers out. The fact is GM looks the other way.. That is where my problem lies with GM and other big companies that do this..

I give you respect Dragoneye, have a little respect for me here. What exactly am I assuming? Name me one dealer in the "price gouging dealers" thread that has in numerous ways screwed with customers including "bait and switch" practices among other things that GM has dealt with? The fact is GM does not police their dealers and only cares about whether or not they keep on buying cars from them.. That is where the disconnect lies with the actual consumer here along the lines of doing something about these types of situations..

GM is honoring my paint work. My trunk lid is rusting from the inside out! Brought it in and they are sending to the repair shop. Now the big question is the gill area's and front bumper chips those areas are still pending. They are replacing my front lip spoiler again from the GM factory kit.

I really think this is a dealer issue, something very fishy in my eyes. Call the BBB and a lawyer.

I hope your issue gets resolved

Thanks everyone for your support. After much consideration, I decided to sell the Camaro. It's just not worth fighting GM for months in court, just to end up with a repainted car. I think it's clear there is a larger quality control problem that GM will have to eventually address - and certainly a prevailing customer service mindset that could use work too. I just don't have the energy to throw myself on my sword for it.

Good luck everyone.

Sorry to hear you're getting out but I understand your position. I wouldn't have the patience for that type of stuff either.
