How to take off front bumber with ground effects?
The other day I was going to take off my front bumber to get it repainted and was able to get to every single bolt to loosen it up except for the two bolts underneath the front bumper. I have ground effects on my car so there are two holes in the ground effects where the bolts are but the holes are smaller than my sockets. Anyone dealt with this. Advice would be greatly appreciated. I was told that I did not have to take off the front ground effects to get to the two bottom bolts. Thanks in advance!

im guessing the GFX for the SS are different than the V6 correct? I have a V6 and my GFX are bolted all the way around but also rivited in near the center so there isnt a way for me to remove my GFX after the dealer installed them. Agian, the SS may be a different set-up, not sure....

No, he wants to remove the whole front bumper, but can't get to the last two bolts on the underside of the car (towards the center, right?) because the holes in the GFX where those bolts are located are too small to fit his socket set through.
Chad, you may need to widen out those holes, but IIRC, the ground effects were supposed to be drilled with 1.25" holes using a hole saw when installed. I can't imagine a socket that's bigger than that... Maybe the installers didn't make the hole the right size?

on the diagram it's figure 42. Those are the two bolts that I can't get to because of my ground effects. I sure hope I don't have to drill those holes any bigger. I don't want to mess up the painted ground effects. I don't even have a scratch on the underside of it. Thank you guys
