Sure it can. All you need to be making over 450 hp at 3600 rpm, and about 2000 at redline. Anything can go fast, just give it more power.

Maybe I should rephrase my statement. Noway the camaro can be faster than a Buggatti veyron and still be street legeal. Come on, a 276 mph street legal Camrao is simply not possible.

Forge the crap out of the engine...lower the compression ratio, and tune it to 103 Octane or some insane number...pop a couple big turbos on it, (a supporting supercharger would have to be insanely huge) and vuala! If the Veyron can be street legal, a stupid-fast Camaro can be!

No, just ask Corvette guys what they have to go through. If you mess with the ECU there will be "tell tale" signs left behind and GM knows what to look for. Your stock TUNE must be stored on some external medium like a PC.

But as I say, why don't you folks visit a Corvette Forum for the latest facts. They have years of experience with the LSX motors. The Corvette boys and girls have been there and done that and all the secrets are known. It's not like the Camaro has any special parts/pieces. It's a vette with a back seat. Why reinvent the wheel - ask the experts.

on motortrend or 1 of them mags it shows the chally hitting 173...wouldn't the camaro be able to do at least that?

My 2002 3800 camaro will do just like the dash says: 125MPH why bother with a top speed limiter if it is set higher than that? 125 MPH and the wrong conditions can kill you, just as easy as 80MPH or 180 MPH.

My Stock 02 Z28 Has 300hp at the wheels and 319f/t lbs Will do the 1/4 in 13.2 @109
Head up Corvette cannot out run me except at Auto X... they have the suspension. I am going to try and Auto X the new Camaro but because of the weight.... who knows maybe the independent suspension will help.

STOCK 300 RWHP, out of an STOCK 02' Camaro, did I miss something? STOCK Vett would eat a STOCK Camaro everday of the week. Maybe your Camaro isn't STOCK. Where did you get those numbers from?Could that engine have been that under rated?

Stock 4th gen camaros were underated from the factory, They were usually from what I have seen about 304-312 hp at the wheels stock. Gm gave the camaro the exact same LS1 the Vette had.

Wont lie, I had no clue that they where putting down those kind of numbers at the wheels stock. I knew they where under rated, but wow!
