2005 Mustang GT

We'll after buying my '10 Camaro V6, my brother goes out and buys a '05 Mustang GT. I rode in it, it's stock but seemed pretty quick. Big question: Any way for my car to smoke his? Long tube headers and a cold air intake are on my short list. What else could make him a little nervous? Thanks Guys.

My nephew is a hard core Ford man and has had a couple Mustangs around that year. As you said, they "seem" quick. He always talked smack when ever he was around me and said that he could blow my 1970 Z-28 off the road. I never raced him because I really did know that I would have smoked him. I still have my car and he sold that car about 3 years ago. He was over one day and I was cleaning my car so figured I'd give him a ride. He was wearing a cap on his head and once I nailed the throttle from a dead stop his hat was in the back seat and all he said was "holy Sh@t!!!" and when I was done he told me that he "Thought" his car was fast but my car would have smoked him!!! He really did say that. Now for your question, not really sure how much HP the 05 GT has but you have 305 HP and his car should be lighter and I think that they had around 300 HP also. I would run him straight up and see how you do, you may be surprised. Then do your mods and run him again. You may lose but you can remind him that you have a V6 and his is a V8.

05-09 are a solid 13.xx car (with even a semi-decent driver)

So my suggestion is to get your car able to run 13.7 or better. Then you will have a chance.

I test drove a 09 you will struggle unless he's a bad driver. What stuck me about the 05-09 mustangs good looking car but too many around and the interior is very cheap looking.

Yeah, the interior isnt the best, but it isn't all that bad either. I think it was maybe 1 notch below my Pontiac G8 GT I had (However it is nice to actually have Nav in the dash, instead of a huge screen, that is nothing more than a large radio display.

He's going to beat you if he knows how to drive. The fasted NA V6 Camaro around ran very high 13's, but low 14's seem to be typical for V6's with LT, Exhaust, and CAI. Stock you are going to be mid to high 14's (i.e. he would probably be at least 6-8 car lengths ahead of you at the end of the quarter).

Shit guys, I'm ready to sell my Motorcycle for a Turbo.... I really thought when I talked to him earlier that day he was going to buy a Camaro. When he pulled in with that mustang, I thought WTF... he has always been a Chevy guy.
Right when I rode in it, it was very jerky, slam'in gears and what not. My camaro is very smooth. I'm just not going to line up with him until I do a few mods.
I liked the mustangs until on every block you see one. i hope the camaros don't get that way.

You definitely cant go more than a block in my neighborhood without seeing a mustang. I have my 2010 RS and there's two late third gens and one 1969 Z28.

Unless you are from here, you probably wouldn't believe me.. But you see way more 2010/2011 Camaros around here vs 2010/2011 Mustangs.

Now for the 05-09 Mustangs, Yes there are more than Camaros around here,, but that is for one HUGE reason.. 5 production years vs two production years.

But yeah Camaros around Abilene TX is almost as popular as Pickup trucks.. It is crazy. As much as I like the Camaro, I don't even get excited seeing them anymore - Unless it really stands out to me. (Synergy Green or Inferno Orange Metallic)
