age doesn't matter at all.... do what your heart desires. i'm 24 and the first time i laid eyes on this camaro i knew in the back of my mind that one day i WILL have one. both my uncles and my dad are as excited as i am... camaros were what they grew up with. i grew up knowing that the camaro to me was THE muscle car. everything else is just a comparison IMO.

i can't wait guys. i think about this camaro everyday... ...and just how sexy it's gonna be

I'll be 55 on Sunday. This car will be the weekend cruiser for my wife and I. We've both had Chevelles in the past and like "cruise'n". I've shared before that we use to do "The Circuit" in Asbury Park, NJ when Bruce, "The Boss", was playing at the Stone Pony.

Former Rides:

1966 Chevelle (1971 to 2007)
1970 Chevelle (1974 to 1991)

Next Ride: 2010 2SS/RS Red Jewel Tint Black Rally Stripes 20" Polished Wheels

I was stationed at Ft. Monmouth in '71 and got to see Bruce there once. Little did we know what he'd become, huh? And I think we all had our "circuit" back then we'd cruise in our hot cars, just to show 'em off, see some friends, meet girls, whatever. A short, carefree, memorable time of life. No game players or PCs to keep us at home. Hell, not even a TV in my bedroom.

But it's also good to see younger guys interested in the car. Someone has to carry on the tradition, and it's refreshing to see them actually interested in a good ole American muscle car, vice ricer.

BTW, this is a really neat thread!!

Absolutely not, and I don't ever want to hear you talk like that again. Your never too old to own a camaro.

car crazy

Well... I'm 54 with my first grandkid on the way. Sadly, I had to cancel my pre-order due to financial issues, but still plan to get the 5th gen within a year or two. I think being "car crazy" is a permanent addiction, no matter how old you are.

When I drive my '69 I suddenly feel like a '20 year old. They'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands!

There is no way you are 38! Never would have guessed that...

Back to topic... I respect anyone who purchases what they want. Regardless of any stereotype.

My father will be a little jealous when we pick up my Camaro, but we're driving his 1977 Vette to NC from OH to get it, so I'll be little jealous as well!

I dont know... I curentlly house my fathers 'vette in my garage, what do you older gentlemen think when you see a 27 year old driving this? We'll see if it works both ways!

Will be 38 in Jan. I hear nothing from anyone about my Evo, which in my opinion would be more stereotypical than the Camaro.

I'm 22, and the Camaro SS is definitely not for me. The Cobalt SS would be a much more age-appropriate car because it is priced in the same range as the Camaro LS, but it boasts better times.
Well yeah, but it's a Cobalt. My grandmother drives a Cobalt. The Cobalt SS is fast, sure, but it's only fast for a Cobalt. In the real world, when you talk about fast cars the Cobalt is left out of the party.

I disagree, the SS Cobalt pulled a 8:22 at nurburgring, that's saying something. I was impressed.

My wife loved the idea of me getting one. I have built my own Street Rod/ Race Cars my whole life. I want a factory one that has muscle and is a first of its kind since I was too young to buy the originals. This is an original and I don't know many people younger than my 45 that are in a position to buy one yet either. There are many I am sure but more likely 30 and up are the ones that can afford them.

You are never to young to own American Muscle anyone who says so must be car hater and needs to leave the country!

One is NEVER too old to drive a Camaro..........

I'm older than dirt and I will be driving one until they plant me in the ground.

(...interesting tidbit -- the Funeral Director in Mars, Pennsylvania - my hometown -- drives a 35th Anniversary Convertible - this Funeral Home has buried every one of my relatives that have died in the past 70 years ...and I've told him he may NOT sell it until after he escorts my funeral procession in that convertible....)

"Mom" Settlemire just turned 84 last week -- and she drives an '02 Camaro "ES" -- (when you're the Fbodfather's Mother, you TOO can get a 'one off' Camaro......) Red with Silver Stripes - -and she's waiting on an IOM LT.........with CG Stripes..........

I asked her if she'd rather have an Impala SS - she said "I'm not ready for an 'old lady sedan!"..............
