Cai, headers, long tubes and tune and ul gonna be fine. Add gears and he will have no chances.

Your going to need a lot of bolt-ons to keep up with equal drivers. After the stang does a tune and CAI your all done though.

I have experience with an 05 GT. While it's no match for an SS, a Camaro V6 would need a lot to beat it. They have about equal power, but the Mustang has a 50 ft/lb torque advantage, and about 250 fewer pounds. The Mustang's power band is also very wide, with it's power "peak" being more of a 1000 rpm wide plateau, (it's basically at peak power anywhere between 5000 and 6000 rpm), which is why it's good for better 1/4 mile times than you'd normally expect from a 300hp, 3500lb+ car.

Without some serious mods (nitrous of forced induction), your only chance would be a bad launch, but in my experience, the 05 GT is easy to launch, so I wouldn't count on that.

We'll see how things pan out, I'd just like to deliver the rear end of my car, if we ever line them up. NOS seems to be an easy add on, that is fairly cheap. I will be doing a cold air intake soon, and would like to get long tube headers this winter. Thanks for all the advice guys.

The Mustang may have 3.55 or 3.73 gears as well already. They were a factory option, and not all that uncommon. There is a sticker on the back of the differential that says what gears are in the car.

You'll need alot. Stock for stock he'll have you by 5-6 lengths, as said. At worst by a full second

You'll need FI or spray to run him down and beat him. An 05 GT at my local track, with an intake, tune and sticky street tires ran 13.3 and 13.2 back to back

His is a Manual. I got an auto. No biggie on a run between us. Hard for a 6 to beat an 8. My car has a cool factor of 10, his maybe a 7 or low 8....

What really sucks it I'm quitting my part time job next week. I made mid teens yearly. I'm kicking myself because I could really dump a lot of cash in the car...... LOL

Nah, still a 6 running with an 8, and if the manual Mustang blows the launch and the 6 cylinder Camaro wins??

More then likely, you'll get him through the 1/8th, or at least be in his door, and then you'll watch him drive by you. Get a good launch and hold on!!
