I love my V6 and I am sure I would have loved the V8 too. I could have spent the extra money on the SS but could not justify spending and extra $10k to get another 114hp when I already have 312hp.

I think we tend to get caught up in what other people have and what other people think.

I have have done some mods and save somed coin doing so but I made it my own.

It really comes down to what makes you happy and what you are comfortable spending.

If you are happy with your Camaro that is all that matters.

you bought the RS because you couldnt afford a v8.. stop BSing your self, and all of us
Dang little dude, you sure must be insecure in your masculinity. Either that our you have a tiny winkie, or got cought wearing your mamma's dress. The reason being you are always going out of your way to belittle the other guy for his choice in purchases, and trying to prove what a MAN you are... Buying a V6 version has nothing to do with money. I bought a 2LT/RS in IOM with polished wheels and it was more than a base 1SS. So now I have two different types of cars for different uses. The V6 rides much better on the highway for long trips, than the SS does. So you see, you aren't little Mr. Knowitall after all.

I agree, I can also afford a v8 but opted for the v6.. Im tired of this v6 vs v8 threads.. its like comparing apples to oranges.. why dont we compare an ss v8 to an audi r8 v10 and see how it matches up. or to the lambo murcielago v12 which obviously is the real mans car.. im pretty sure the ss v8 will look like a wimp compared to these cars.

The v6 is easier to keep a clean driving record and lower insurance rates. personally if i had an SS I would probably see myself with a few tickets. the v6 is just easier to relax in. identical in looks with an RS and still pretty damn quick. if i wanted a drag car I would put together a much faster car than a camaro for alot less money and just use it for the purpose of going straight and real fast.

Some of you made this post into something it's not. The OP asked for input from people who have owned both the V6 and V8, and their thoughts on the differences on each.

The thread was not about which is better than the other, that is what some of the people that reply turn it into.

The Camaro is a Camaro, they are all beautiful and I love seeing them all on the road. I chose a V8, because that is what I wanted.

It is a great car, no matter what model or trim level!!!

in reality a stock SS is a dog to real drag cars. get on www.yellowbullet.com and tell those guys how fast your stock SS is
I am sure you will get laughed off the site quickly. a vast majority of the guys there have 8 second cars that cost much less than a stock SS

This is all fine and dandy but shouldn't we switch gears now and discuss the the pros and cons of M6 vs A6?

V8 if you want to keep it for years and years, it'll hold its value more than the V6.

Darn it. I knew we had gone several hours without getting into that topic.

Yes but the OP made some pretty inflamatory statements about the SS being a vastly superior car.

Agreed! I love my V6, not because it's a V6, because it's a.... CAMARO!
