Many of the SS owners are awesome and love the V6 as well.... It's a select few that this comment applies to, and for them select few, I AGREE... LOLOLOL

It certainly seems that way. I'm not aware of anyone that I know personally that has a V6 that wouldn't have gotten the V8 had price, insurance, and maintenance been equal. I'm really curious if those that seem uptight can honestly say that if everything were equally priced, they still would choose a 6. I think it is a reasonable assumption that most people choose a V6 because of those 3 factors. I suppose fuel efficiency could play a role, but in reality I don't see why it should since they are very similar in that respect. I get 17 in town in purely stop and go traffic and 26 on the interstate.

Oh, he definitely chose his words poorly, but I don't think he intended to offend anyone.

I got my LS because that is what I wanted. I did the mods that I wanted because I wanted to create something that was unique and didn't look like all of the others out there.

I didn't need or want the V8.

That being said too many people knock each other because thiers has more power or more mods or their auto is faster than someones manual. At the end of the day it really comes down to bragging rights. We all own Camaros and that should be enough.

At the end of that day there are more important things in life anyway.
True dat!

He wasnt rude it was just his feelings I agree. I wouldnt even consider ever getting a v6 Camaro and I think my car is far superior to the v6 model. Thats just my opinion though no need to get upset over it. LOL if you drive a v6 and it makes you happy good. This is a forum and its to put thoughts on thats all he did.

Well, for example, look at a 1999 v6 camaro vs a 1999 camaro ss. The ss's are worth more. Also, gas in 1999 was nearly half the price of today's gallon of gas. Also, look at it this way; take a '67 camaro ss/rs with a 396 and matching numbers all the way around, a very rare car to find these days. That car will almost 10,000$ more than the '67 V6. It's just the way it is, not trying to diss the v6 in anyway, that's the car you wanted and you love it that's all that counts.

I for one, think his comments should have been left for all future customers to see... I like to know about the supplier I am buying from and knowing that ************ thinks my V6 is a joke, would be nice information to have BEFORE ordering from them...

you bought the RS because you couldnt afford a v8.. stop BSing your self, and all of us
Wow, way to walk all over my opinion. I've had plenty of Chevrolet V8s, a 1970 SS el Camino included. I actually LIKED the V6 because I don't need to impress girls with a big engine because I don't have a big ____! In fact the only person who needs to be impressed in MY opinion is ME.
The OP asked why I bought what I bought - why don't you answer his question instead of flaming my choice, dipstick.

Eh, the mileage rating for the 6 is 17/26 and for the 8 is 16/24 - hardly enough difference to merit going with the 6 irrespective of the cost of fuel. Facts are that the 8 is going to hold its resale over the long term better than the 6 in a car like this. Same thing for a full size pickup. I suppose that this one time could be different than any other instance in the history of the automobile, but I doubt it.
