Ford just pulled away again for the lead...get with it Chevrolet!!

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/08/23/f...w-5-0-liter-v/

Ford to offer as supercharger for their new 2011 5.0 Mustangs good for 600+hp with warranty!!!

With warranty

Even if and when the Z/28 finally comes out it's already behind.

Well the problem is one company is not goverment owned and the other is. Until they can get the goverment dickheads out of their business GM can't go HP crazy.

Shoot I am still wishing they would come out a with a gear set from GMPP that would give us a better chance and a warranty.

From what I read only the 525hp has warranty, the 600+ is not under warranty.

"The base package provides 525 horsepower and 470 pound-feet torque and comes with a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty when installed by a Ford or Lincoln dealer, while the second kit offers 624 hp and 536 lb-ft torque... but no warranty." as per Drew Phillips article.

Well, if you have any of the Superchargers that are offered to the Camaro you can get a warranty also, if it's installed by an approved tech as per that manufactures guidelines.

Don't worry, with a few tweeks here and there I'm sure the Z-28 will produce even more insane numbers.

GM has started to offer it's stock for sale, thus to get out of government control. As reported by CNN HERE

Only the 525hp version has the warranty, the 624hp version does not. I can't see the internals of the 5.0 holding up long under that much boost. (624hp)

Depends on what you mean by practical.

If riding around knowing you can beat just about any other Muscle car you see is practical, then I'd say it's practical. After all, most mod up for a usualy unuseable level of performance anyway.

And if you're talking about driveability, then it's definitely useable on the street.

Why not? Especially when it may be a street car that's only raced once a month or so.

Just think of it this way,

If GM is sitting at #1, why would they make advancements? When Ford sets the bar, GM gets the chance to step up to the plate and offer the next best thing... Competition is good.....
