it has to do with how they programed the trans to work from the factory and then once the intake is on it makes the way its setup even worse that why with the programer we made all the changes to the trans to make it even metter then before with even more power gains. If you guys have anymore questions fill free to call or if your interested in a programer. 951-205-7941 Jonathan

Ive never seen an increase in MPG with CAI's. Had one on a silverado and the MPG went down by two. Reset the computer did everything, no chage. I even went back to stock, that thing really whacked up that truck, it never was the same, truck only had 20k on it too.

Personally, i think buying an intake, and then having to modify it on your own by drilling holes, is a complete waste of money.
The injen on the other hand, paired with some decent flowing exhaust should give you some decent gains in MPG. i gained a few, and i actually average 30-32 highway with my injen, x-pipe and magnaflows. keep it mind, depending on temps, speed, hills etc. |

Damn Scharzer. Too bad. I have been checking on my L/100km (mpg) and it is back to normal, actually looking like it might be better. I have only been back and forth to work so far, but all the high readings seem to be gone and it has more kick now that there is no vacuum leak. That is the only thing I can recommend is to check all your connections again in good light and when the engine isn't too hot to work on.

Oh yeah!!! I completely submerged the filter!! Which is what you would have to do with the Injen, and that means 22", yep damn near 2 foot, of water!! We all know, none of us would drive, on purpose, in our Camaros, through that kind of water. As to the what ifs, and you never knows, the same can be said for any CAI. You submerge the filter, then you run the risk, with anyone of them. And I agree with SDCamaro10, why buy an intake just to have to modify it? I also agree AirRaid probably isn't going back to the drawing board again, lol. Gotta give them credit, at least they fixed the first non-issue! |
