I like my v6 auto. I got tired of 28 years in L.A. traffic with manuals. The auto is great!! Put in sport mode and when you want to get moving it just takes a tap of the gas and you downshift immediately, or use tapshift ,and faster then a manual will be. For power add shorty headers, catback, cai and premium gas and you have close to 350 net hp, plenty for the street! Keep your foot out of it and get 29-32 mpg on the freeway and 18-19 around town.

Mustang definatly....I see 10 to 20 a day....Camaro's only one or two if I'm lucky. My Camaro will be more rare, better looking and draw more attention from the all to common Mustang. Your choice...the Camaro is beautiful. If you can't SEE the difference then go buy the Mustang....its meant to be and made for you.

Yeah, I'll eventually mod it some. But even then, I'm approaching 30 and don't always need to beat kids off the line like I used to in high school!

Along with 100,000 other Camaro's that are currently being owned and driven, and that number is ever increasing.

The Camaro is already "common". Camaro's outnumber the Challenger in my area 2:1 and outnumber the 2010/11 Mustang by at least 3:1.

If you want a head turner, get a chally. Even V6s turn my head because I just dont see that many. When I see a plum crazy SRT its even worse. My girlfirend about dies everytime she see either a red or purple srt. Thats a bitchin ride.

Now that school is back in I see MORE camaros than I do 2010/11 mustangs of any model. Ive only seen 1 5.0 in red and it was hauling ass on the freeway so I couldnt get a good look.

The new mustangs are pretty damn nice. No LS would compete with one in performance, looks or comfort. Just sayin. Don't hate a car because of its name.
Here is my butt ugly LS....

Just sayin.
It's painfully obvious you've never seen a Camaro LS.

Here, let me help you out ...

Just sayin.

what? I know lots of V6 & V8 guys who would disagree with this. I think the LACK of mail slot & spoiler make the LS & LT look better.

Wheels can be debated...since none of the stock ones are anything to brag about.

When are people going to realize that looks are subjective. Blondes, Brunettes, Red Heads, Tall, short, thin, thick, pale, tan, white black. etc etc..

We aren't talking about some hideous creature compared to a super model here. We are talking about two nice looking Muscle Cars.. It really is just a matter of taste.

I go back and forth with which I like better. It doesn't really matter, because I don't plan to buy either for quite some time, I am focusing my money on paying debt off.

But still, I have the intellectual honesty to admit that looks are completely subjective.

2010 SS Camaro vs 2010 5.0 Mustang GT

I can not describe how disappointed I am to report these results. I know some diehard fans might not appreciate this but I drove each car almost 200 miles over the weekend to come to this conclusion.

I decided to take a few pictures of the new Camaro and my 69 alongside each other. I ran out of time to shoot the Mustang GT but with the way they are selling you will have no problem seeing one.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 1969 SS Camaro almost 35 years now so trying to stay neutral I knew would be difficult for this shootout. For 16 years stock Mustangs have had to eat shit. Ford decided to end this competition but talk is just that talk. Internet warriors quote what they read and actually believe half the shit. I was chatting one eveing with NoMan and he pointed out why he purchased a Ford over the Camaro.I have heard nothing except rave reviews from Rabbi NoMan about the new Mustang. I decided it is time to test these 2 cars my way.

Let us start with the comforts and amenities that the interior affords us

The interior of the Mustang seems to be more ergonomically correct to me then the Camaro. The only feature I do not like on the Stang is the 2 center a/c vents. Ford used round ones on the corners(Like Toyoata) and should have used them in the center. This is a minor complaint and the only one that stood out to me. The Camaro's interior was disappointing. The door handles to get out of the car were located low and just above my knees. Awkward and in the evening I find myself searching for the handles. The Stangs were high and easy to get to in a well lit interior. The steering wheel controls on the Chevy are recessed a tad more then they should be where as the Mustangs seem to have just right the angle. Getting in and out of the Camaro was difficult when compared to the GT. The Camaro rear seat folds down giving you pleaty of extra storage for those trips to Walmarts. I forgot to check and see if the the GT’s seat folds down. Strike 1 for me and the Camaro.

Well going into this comparison test I thought the SS Camaro would edge out the 5.0 Mustang GT in most categories. Both cars were fully loaded and had 6 speed auto. The Camaro was equipped with the TAPshift manual shift controls on steering wheel. Chevy's attempt is so feeble they should remove it from the car. At wide open throttle it has significant lag when upshifting. Leave the car in drive and it shifts smoothly and efficiently. Another problem is under wide open throttle when you remove your foot quickly from the gas pedal the car is abrupt and crude upshifting. The Mustang on the other hand is extremely smooth regardless of what you demand it do. Since I needed the Ford to lose I repeated this test several times and each shift made me think Lexus. I am beginning to believe Ford does make a better car.

The engines were similar in power 420/412 although reports are coming in that the Stangs numbers are closer to 430(not 412) which clearly gives Ford another notch in their belt. The Mustang's 4.3 vs Chevys 4.5(Magazine test report) seems close yet feels like the edge is more then the numbers reflect. The Ford motor is so smooth and compliments the automatic unlike any other has before for me. When driving the GT at 8/10’s the car exudes confidence. This is where the additional pork for the Chevy affects its overall road manners.

This nail in the coffin.

Drone-Drone & Drone. I am shocked that when driving around the town the amount of noise(drone if I may) that the Chevy displays inside the cabin. I would say it is 3 times worse then any Gen III Viper. Plus the Camaro’s comes from the front which makes it worse. This kills the music that this muscular V8 emits. You would think those heavy cast iron manifolds chevy uses would keep it quiet. The Ford is all about refinement. Give the car a little more gas and you hear all engine and no drone. The conversation go unaffected by partial throttle where it is interrupted in the Camaro. The Ford also has tubular headers vs the Chevys cast iron GMC crap. After jumping in and out of each car the Ford’s drive train is several rungs up the ladder better the Chevy.
