I like the sound in the third video. I am still pursuing a catback solution, I don't want to mess with headers and cats and such : )

well, as you can see from the first post, there are only three exhaust systems designed specifically for the L99, that I've discovered. I am hoping to find more before making a decision. I doubt I will be able to find a local with one of these three setups to hear it in person.

Yep, same here. FYI- not wanting to go off topic but thought I would mention that when I upgrade my exhaust I do plan on installing an air induction system too.... more air in... more air out...

I don't think any typical aftermarket catback will work well with AFM. The only one that looks promising is the Helmholtz tubed catback. There is a thread about it. This is what GM uses in the L99 muffler. That U shaped pipe in the muffler. If you don't want to turn AFM off, this or stock will be your only option for keeping AFM annoyance down. If you're just looking for a more aggressive sound, cut out the resonator and install a non resonated Xpipe. IMO, a MUCH better sounding exhaust yet retains the OEM cruise quietness.

20 hp seems way, way off base. A CAI + Exhaust, I think it would be more realistic to expect 10 all together. Remember many of these websites say 'UP TO' and are rare cases if they even have been documented...
Also factor in if you have an L99 whether you want to go axle or cat. Personally I don't plan on going much further than a CAI and exhaust. I am not planning on moding much further than that. Subsequently, I will probably go axle back. I am pretty sure it is common sense, but what I have witnessed is you will have less issues with AFM with an axle than a full cat back w/ these resonators. Now if you plan on going further than a catback and CAI chances are you may not have a dealership honor your warranty anyways....so why not just tune the garbage out?

Entaille,
Say what you want about the Magnaflow, I have had both the Corsa installed on a stock car that sounded great and was way to loud with LTs and a SC. I then switched to the Magnaflow street cat back and it now sounds great. No drone and really good sound at any RPM. |

thanks y2k, that was exactly what I wanted to hear. someone with a video review with AFM and all.. perfect.
I was hoping it would be slightly louder, but it sounds great. was that before or after your JBA short headers? |

I'd like to hear an L99 with an x-pipe and stock mufflers. Has anyone done this or seen a video?
