Good question, I`m assuming the CAI balanced the exhaust out since it is allowing the blower to pull air in easier and this can increase boost, But I like you would have thought it would have dropped a little more from the headers than the CAI would make up for.

The way Tim explained to me and hopefully I'm saying this correctly, is that the boost is on the intake side. When we swap the cam and give it longer duration on the intake side, we will see a drop in boost. Tim correct me if I'm wrong.

BOOST
Boost is a measurment of restriction, nothing else. By adding headers, you allow air to exit more quickly and depending on camshaft, you can see a boost level drop due to the quicker exiting air. There is less restriction on the exhaust side to hold air up as it tries to enter the chamber during overlap. On the other hand, air inlets are a restriction, hence, the reason you pick up power with a CAI. Now you are allowing more air into the supercharger and this will typically raise your boost level so ... by loosening both intake and exhaust airflow, I wouldnt expect to see a difference in boost.
Hope this helps |

I wouldn't expect to see much of a drop in boost from the CAI and headers. The cam is where its at, get that thing in and lets see what she does

We're waiting to see what happens tomorrow. We're staying put for now. I've been through a lot of hurricanes. As long as my power stays on we will be here. If power goes out, I'm headed home.
