I remember reading somewhere on here that a V6 with the RS option will have the limiter set for 155 mph. If you don't get the RS option however, I believe it's set for 115 mph. All of it has to do with the speed rating on the tires the car comes with. The tires on the V6's with the RS option have a higher speed rated tire...so they get the higher limiter setting. As far as the V8's go, I don't think there's been any official word yet that I'm aware of. But because the speedometer goes up to 180 mph instead of the V6's 160 mph, I'd imagine it'd be set somewhere from 155-175 mph.

You should be able to take it off electronically by something like a Superchip device.

My Magnum was limited to 228kmh. I have gone well past that with the limiter taken off with the Superchip.

It's fast enough for a V6. Can you imagine the ticket? If you plan on hitting faster than that you should be in the V8 anyway... because that's already track only speed. You'll poke yer eye out going that fast on public roads... (term of speech).

Who says you wont be able to race the v6? Its lighter (I know not by much, but anything is something) and it'll have better weight distribution.

There's no reason to believe that the V6 can't keep up with the V8 with basic bolt-ons, an aggressive tune, and properly applied forced induction. That V6 will slaughter a lot of cars at the track. I'm excited to see what happens when a tuned V6 and a Mustang GT do battle. You can definitely race the V6, and that will make every Camaro a car that competitive drivers fear on the streets.

Also think about it, the V6 stock is quicker than most of the IROC Z28's and the Gen4 cars. None of the announced Camaro's will be slouchs. I hope they do not funk up the car by doing a turbo 4. Just no torque there.

yea, or u could ship it overseas and go drive on the autobahn. me and a buddy of mine did tht with my '86 and it was friggen sweet. iv only got a 3.1 L v6, and it was gettin 100+ mph, so the new ones better do tht + more, even with tht stupid limiter. and without it, and a couple mods here and there, it could reach tht 200 mark. god, i hope so.

I didn't even think about a speed limiter on the V6. I know the 4th gen Z28's had them if they didn't come with Z rated tires from the factory. So it's the same deal with the six. I don't really want the RS option. Hmmm, this kind of stinks.
