Pedders slots the front mounting bolt to induce an extra degree of caster. Pfadt uses a plate to allow caster and camber adjustment.

Camber plates should be allowed, but the total cost of all components should be listed, so you can decide how much you want to pay for how much "performance". You can use the Pfadt camber setup with Pedders Xa's, but you can accomplish the same camber specs with Pedder's standard setup w/o the plates. Pfadt's plates are cool, but how much $$$ do you want to spend? Do the plates make a difference in long-term durability? Who knows? None of us want to wait for a 150,000 mile test to find out.

Both Pedders and Pfadt go back and forth with this kind of thread every once in a while. I can tell you they are both top notch companies and stand behind their products. They even went out of their way to make sure their products would work together on my car. Truth be told any race between them would probably be a drivers race....period. Each one on each product has its pros and cons, like TCao said there are always tradoffs and priorities. Ever heard the old saying "there is more than one way to shin a cat"
Both are about the best out there at what they do and we are very fortunate to have them both building bad a** parts for our cars!! MOD ON!!!!!!

I have an answer....... I will rent Willow Springs Raceway. I will hire a former Indy/SCCA/NASA pro-driver (dressed in white race suit and white helmet of course) and outfit 2 indentical 2010 Camaros (even identical dyno charts included). Same tires, same day, same temps, same car, same power, same driver. We won't tell him which car has what suspension. Both cars with identical corner weights and both with same settings on dampers.
Pfadt and Pedders donate their complete suspension systems (of equivalent value) for 1 car. Then we make back to back to back runs. Any takers?

Since this thread is titled "Camaro Coilover Comparison Facts", I would like hear the facts from both Pfadt and Pedders regarding their coilovers with respect to camber adjustment.
How much negative camber can you get with the Pfadt coil overs if the Camaro was lowered either 1" or 1.5" without the camber plates? I doubt I will ever need more than -2 degree of camber up front(?). How much negative camber can you get with the Pedders coil overs with the 10mm slotted clevis? Is there any downside to such a drastic change to the steering geometry?

Thanks for the thorough thread so far, I just wanted to ask about the fact that you use the spring perch for height adjustment. For the sake of full disclosure and not looking like a plant, I had questioned your competitive counterparts over in the other Coilover Facts thread that was referenced above regarding the claim that designs using the lower spring perch adversely affects spring pre-compression as well as jounce/travel in that if the car is lowered too much there is the potential to hit the bump stop before full compression of the spring effectively limiting your range of travel. Do either of these alleged negatives of using the lower perch for adjustment affect the normal function of your coilovers and if yes/no, why/why not?
